||Nonn||
hello all, I've got a problem installing vice city into my PC. Just got it today. I just pop the install CD in and nothing seems to happen, though i do see the hour glass animation on my mouse cursor. I opened up task managed and to my surprise, I see multiple setup.exe's opening up, tons of them, and yet no Setup box pops up or anything. I just close them down before theres too many for the system to handle. Im running Windows 2000, 950mhz, 256 RAM, 64meg 3d video, and 3 gigs of free space. So can anyone help me out? HeliPilot
Is you copy of Windows 2000 the pro edition with all 3 service packs installed. The only thing I can figure is your version of windows isn't allowing a proper install. One thing you can try is to disbale auto-play on your cd-rom, insert the disk and then explore. Click on the vc setup manually.

Do you mind if I ask what you base that on? I use 2KSP3 and have never had a single issue since my motherboard manufacturer updates their sound drivers about a year and a half ago. @Nonn: Turn off autoplay on your CD-ROM. If you don't want to or don't know how, just hold the Shift key on your keyboard when you insert the CD until you hear it spin up and then taper off. Shouldn't take but 10-15 seconds. Now open My Computer, right click on your CD-ROM and select open. Try launching setup.exe manually. I can't think of anything outside of a virus that would cause an autoplay to execute 3 times. MAYBE (and I only suggest this because on CPUs of that caliber, I've only run 98 on) your system was hiccupping and accidentally made the call for it 3 times, though I seriously doubt it.
