How to get Bulletproof Feltzer in End of the Line?

Okay, I'm on the last mission and learned about the bulletproof Feltzer that you drive in the last part of "End of the Line." The non-cheat tip I heard to get it was to drive the Feltzer into the water just far enough to make the game think the car's destroyed, but not so far that you can't drive it back out.

Maybe I'm wrong, but the chase doesn't go anywhere near Verona Beach, but it does briefly pass right by East Beach, which I assume is what the author meant. Even so, when the chase arrives at East Beach, I can't get the car at the right depth quickly. I either go too deep so that the car can't come back out or not deep enough nor quickly enough (the game failed message says that I lost sight of Sweet).

Does anyone know how to get this car without cheats? If so, what technique did you use?

i think you might want to try this: after CJ get in the car, just wait there, until sweet die, then simple, drive back to an empty garage. sign-thompson.gif

Usually cars lose their specialty after missions are failed or completed.

your method is basically correct. It's not Verona but East Beach, you're right there. Verona is out of the way. When you're about to hit the water, don't speed up but take a little bit of time (but not too long) to dip the car so that you see your lung bar appears. When this happens, you're good to go. Just wait for mission failure for WRECKING YOUR CAR, and that beauty is yours. That's the message you need to get, instead of Sweet dying because you were not close enough, blah, blah.

Pushing it out of the water is all too easy.

Well, I finally got that damn BP Feltzer! Thanks to all who offered tips.

I think it was obtained by more luck than skill, but here's how I finally got it:

When the chase turned northward on the big street that border East Beach, I stayed on the firetruck's tail as closely as possible. There is a long concrete-paved observation and parking area with stairs that comes up on your right shortly after the road turns northward. This is the area I turned right onto to "hit the beach" This is actually a pretty good area to jump off from as there are fewer bumps to slow you down as you're driving like a maniac towards the waterline. I guess I finally got the right depth, because the "wrecked your car" message came up and I was still able to back the Feltzer out of the water.

Keep in mind that you can't just let Sweet get away or simply drive the Feltzer to one of your garages, because if you do so, it will lose its bulletproof/damageproof/fireproof properties. In order to keep those, you have to do it the same pain-in-the-ass way that I did. Probably the most irritating part of it all was having to fight my way through Big Smoke's crackhouse so many times!

Congrats then, and enjoy your combat vehicle.

since you're into DP/BP/EP/FP cars, you should've obtained the Greenwood too before that one. Getting the Feltzer a pain the ass?

I suggest you try getting the Greenwood wink.gif

It's almost a nightmare! sly.gif

Actually, srg, I did NOT get the Greenwood, but not because I tried to get it and failed. Rather, I just simply didn't start collecting BP cars until later in the game because it wasn't until that point that I found a document that showed how to get the special cars on Gamefaqs.com. Now there's no way in heck I'll start the game from the beginning just to get all the cars, because:

(1) Having done a lot of side stuff like get all the spray tags, oysters, photos, races, etc., I really don't look forward to doing all that again.

(2) Garage space is tight enough as it is, and I don't want to overpack them for fear of having cars disappear.

Clearly, you have your own extensive collection of BP cars and let me offer you my own congratulations on your feat!
