Officer Pulaski
i personnally really dont like superhero movies i think mainly due to the fact that i used to read the old comic books and they really arent like the comics and what i really hate about them is the fact that they are SO predictable heres the villain, heres the hero, its all right there and you know exactly whats gonna happen theres not even a middle man that might help out the villain and turn aginst the hero nope not even the slightest of twists and if they make a third spider man, how much do you want to bet that MJ will ONCE AGAIN at the very end of the movie either be in great danger of dying (probably from a tall building) or kidnapped and dococ dies!? dococ never dies! he always escapes so spiderman can fight him, again and again unfortunetely mr. lee made like a million heroe so in about 30 years youre probably gonna see movies like "Hawkeye" or "The Wasp" "Antman" all the crappy ones that no ones heard of, and that will still get a lot of viewers, even though Antman and the wasp are pretty much the same and technically hawkeye just shoots arrows and doesnt have powers
Mar
A lot of people see them for the comics and the action. The action is fantasy which means a lot more can be done, and things tend to get a little more exciting. The reasons that superheros are so popular is because children always want to be something better than they're not and get into a false image that saves them and makes their life perfect. Superhero movies are for people who love superheros. End. <3 Tricycle Propaganda Monster FBI Connection <
Goodfella.
For your information Doc Ock did die, his neck was snapped by Kaine during the clone saga, though he was later resurected by The Hand. But yeah, this thread is sh*t...
papanesta
I know this isn't the movies, but in the Spiderman cartoon series, I'm pretty sure DareDevil fights Spidey, then later helps him. You can't say it's all good and bad guys with characters about like Black Cat and so on. But whatever, Dan said it best, this thread is sh*t. C Bear
First of all, if you're going to post spoilers use the spoiler tags. Not everybody likes having the endings of movies ruined for them. Second, I'm not generally a fan of superhero movies. Spiderman 2, was an excellent film, however. Not just an excellent superhero film, but an excellent film in its own right. You said that superhero movies aren't really like the comic books. Perhaps that's true in most instances, but Spiderman 2 really was like a comic. The framing of a lot of the shots, particularly when the character is talking to themself, and the dialogue that they speak really does make it look and feel like it could've been ripped right from a panel of a comic book. Most superhero movies are sub=par, but Spiderman 2 is a perfect example of what can be done with the sub-genre, and what a superhero movie should be. Venom
Superhero movies are fine. The 80's saw alot, like Superman and other B-list ones like Captain America, which I saw on VSH in a charity shop... But X-Men and Spider-man were the first of the new generation of action films, people saw their success, and wanted to make others, such as Daredevil, Hulk, Fantastic 4, Another Batman...and it just seems to be too much... Ciabatta
People wonder why no-ones going to the movies anymore. First off, take a look at what your local theater is featuring. It's either a remake of a '70s-'80s T.V show or movie (case in point Bad News Bears, Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory, The Dukes of Hazzard, Herbie: Fully Loaded, etc.) or a superhero movie based off of the comic book (Spider-Man, DareDevil, Elektra, etc.), or a crappy horror movie which keep coming out constantly and each one say they are scarier than the ones released before hand (The Grudge, Skeleton Key, Darkness, Boogeyman, Dark Water, etc.). The super-hero movies started off with the Superman movies and B-list movies in the '80s like Venom said. Now each comic has to be made into a movie. When Spider-Man first released it was incredible and was a blockbuster. So other studios saw that and wanted to capitalize off of it by making other comic-to-movie films like DareDevil, Elektra, Hellboy, The Hulk. As these films keep coming out in mass production people get bored of them because they show the same thing. The best comic-to-film movie I've seen this year has to be Sin City. That movie was the return of the anti-hero onto the silver screen instead of the repeptitive comic books that show good guy vs. bad guy. That movie was also a noir film as well it actually had a great storyline to it or to each three stories. Substance, story, excellent acting...all of it was there. Let me sum it up by saying super-hero movies suck.
Officer Pulaski
i can say i liked the first spiderman, it was descent the second spiderman, personnaly i didnt like the whole story about him struggling to find out who he was the hulk, i dont blame it for being a bad movie because it must have been hard to try to make a story x-men 2 i hated, since when did wolverine fall in love with phoenix (jean gray)? i didnt read x-men that much but wolverine never even talked that much first x-men, it was ok, basically the thing i hated was that toad beat up like half the x-men even though all he could do is jump around slapping people with his tongue
papanesta
Have you ever tried fighting a mutant that can jump around the room slapping you with its tongue? Thought not. And stop typing in that really annoying way, please?
Goodfella.
See stop complaining about the core material being changed when the fact is you know jack sh*t about it anyway. Logan's love for Jean has been a huge reacurring storyline in the comics for years and years, part of the reason him and Cyclops were always at each others throats. @Ciabatta: Superhero movies suck? so I take it you've seen X-Men, X-Men 2, Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2, Batman, Batman Returns, Batman Begins, Blade, Blade 2, and Superman 2? There's plenty of room for Super Hero movies, but studios need to treat them with f*cking respect, that's why the Spider-Man and X-Men movies did well, and that's why Daredevil etc didn't. Oh and DareDevil the directors cut is an awesome film, so much better it's unbelievable...
papanesta
Ooo, how is it different? Not that I've even see the cut version, but anyway. More violence and such?
Goodfella.
There's some more brutal action, some awesome and hillarious scenes with Bullseye which includes a cameo by Frank Miller (Mr. Sin City himself), loadsa swear words (omg!1!), it doesn't cop out and make Elektra and Matt f*ck for the sake of it, there's a whole other sub-plot regarding a girl who gets killed and a crack head who was found at the scene, though Matt knows he's innocent and tries to clear him, and that's connected to the whole Kingpin thing, there's also alot more comedy with scenes between Foggy and Matt. All in all the extra 30 minutes makes it seem like a much better film, the characters and story adre fleshed out much more etc. It's the cut the director wanted to use but the f*ck-wit producer wanted to use the other one because it was shorter and more of a "fun ride full of action". I wanna kill that guy...
Hostile17
To be honest dude, Daredevil could be 100x better, and it would still be barely watchable. Ben Affleck. GRRRRRRRRR! Superhero movies are awesome. I think I've seen all the new ones, even Catwoman (which should NEVER have been seen by ANYBODY, EVER). Best of bunch has to be Spiderman 2. God that film was awesome. Yes, but generally I love movies because they give me 2hours of Happy-Non-Reality-Time... super-hero movies makes it more unreal, makes me more happy, then of course, I got to come back to real life... BTW; why does everyone say Catwoman was a bad movie, I didnt find it so bad..., I found Elecktra worse (except for jennifer garner)
