Gela
first of all, there wouldnt be any character "classes", you would start either as a thin little bald man, or a thin little woman both dressed like bums. Of course you can adjust the height and the face. Now its going to be set in a cliched rpg world minus the dragon, dungeons fairys and all that gay crap. You can gain strenght, but after a while of fighting, it will diminish for example you have 100 str points, but your status is 30% so your actual strenght is 30... also, your stats will ahve an effect on your character. If you have high strengh level, your character will be ripped, if he has high magic, he will glow, his closes will hover or he will leave a little glowing trail as he runs. stamina points will work like straihgt and will diminish as you run. You will not be able to learn certain skills simply by achieving a level. upon achieving a level or completing a quest, you can get a certificate that allows you to train for a certain skill at the barracks. If its a bow skill, you will actually go and shoot at certain targets until you qualify. And training costs money, so you better not slack off during testing! by doing this, you choose your own path to become skilled in certain areas. You can get 1 buy one pet that you have to feed. Pets are ones found in real life. dogs, tigers etc. You can get a pet to help you fight like a bear or something, and one that can do other things - horse: transport, camel - carriers baggage if your a merchant speaking of merchants, there are ships. you can either buy one ( very expensive) and engage in fishing, being a pirate ( attack computer ships). If your just starting and need to get to another island, you have to take a ship, but t will happen in real time so you have to wait. If you log off while on a ship, it will still take you to your destination thank you for taking time to read this, just had to get it off my mind p.s. i dont play many rpgs, i only played diablo 2 for some time and linage 1 for some time that is all. anuj
Your "idea" (rpgworld minus rpg cliches) was tried in "The Bard's Tale". Turns out that most RPGs depend on having cliche RPG themes in order to be successful. Good luck, nonetheless.
MissileDefender
Yea i think theres already a game like that... Everyone plays it n its incredibly annoying...
Vanzant
Couldnt follow very easily some RPG's are too complicated for me thats why I stick with older ones. If i'm playing as a pirate in a game i'm not buying (very expensive) ships i'm going to be stealing them.
gta_king
good? bad? Neither, Dreadful is more like it. Now its going to be set in a cliched rpg world minus the dragon, dungeons fairys and all that gay crap. Whoo that just describes every RPG on the market right now... Its an awful idea, you havn't described anything very well at all, whats the pupose of it? Why are the characters there doing what they do? What would be in this RPG. sate
Dude. 1. If you had this brilliant idea don't post it on a forum so everybody can steal it, and laugh at you when they get rich. 2. Your idea as gta_king just mentioned isn't thought through. At all. (So you don't have to worry about number one). 3. Good start, if it hadn't already been done. Maybe you could play that other game and find all the mistakes, then build on to your idea. Put a lot of work into it, and then give it to Ubi Soft or something like that and make them pay you millions. J/K that would never happen, life sucks my friend. Wait for The Elder Scrools: Oblivion to come out and play that, then you will know what real RPG's are about.
Gela
ya im not worried about people stealing my horrid ideas, not like im going to be a game designer or spend time writing a script to gaming companies. i just dont like rpgs because of those things i mentioned. If they made an rpg that made sense, I would play it.

You see, the only people who think RPGs don't 'make sense' are the ones who are blatantly retaded. Also, have you plyed Final Fantasy VII? No dungeons, no dragons, no fairies, it also happens to be the most popular RPG ever made.
