GTA Garage Mod Manager

Today I finaly purchased a PC version of GTASA, being a seasoned PS2 player of the game I have enjoyed modding cars using ARMax and was apprehensive about adding in mods on the PC version.

This program is superb to say the least, within a couple of hours (including installing and testing GTASA) I have added a load of modified cars and weapons. They are all stable and everything is going well so far.

Wish I had convertyed to PC a while ago, only it was never this easy before.

Looking forward to the finished version.

Help!

This program looks really awesome and I want to use it, but for some reason, when I load it, no cars come up. Sometimes a small piece of a car would show up, or white squares, or just a blue background. What's wrong?

Wow you are quick Delfi!

This program is truely a piece of art.

I have some more suggestions/questions:

* when installing a car manually, there could be current values in car stats lines (IDE line, handling line, colors line) so when I only need to change one number, I don't have to copy and paste the original lines from SA and change them. It would be simpler and a little bit more error free smile.gif . You could make a checkbox in ? tab, to turn it ON or OFF.

* also the script could do a little error check when inserting values to files (for example to notice that there are no comma between the car name and the first value in "colors line".

* maybe it makes inserting car too easy, but there could be a option to replace the current car you see. It could be like it was in GTA Mod installer (you insert whatever car and it's specs, and the program changes them to the car You want to replace) turn.gif

* this is really too much to ask! Could the program read the handling line and adjust the wheel height and position according the setup.

* when previous question was already too much then you shouldn't even read this one if you don't want). Is it possible to make the car viewable like in NFS Porche edition, I mean that you can open doors, bonnet, boot.... rolleyes.gif

These suggestions/questions were just my thoughts nobody doesn't have to read them, moreover to act according to them, if they are going against their beliefs.

Again Delfi nice program!!!!! rah.gifrah.gifrah.gif

#1: yeah i could make a editor for the lines built into the installer or a separate window? i will think of a good solution.

#2: i could do that, it doesn't seem hard, i can as well count amout of texts in a line to know which is handling and which is ide smile.gif

#3: i don't think this would be a good idea, car mods are intended to fit into specific car slots with specific special properties.

#4: if you can explain how suspension setup applies wheel position i can do that with no problem, cerbera maybe knows but he is not on msn right now so i can't ask him.

#5: i had this planned (just as it can rotate wheels) but cannot think of any good way of doing that (bunch of sliders or automatic program controlled opening & closing) just tell me how to do this so i don't get people complaining about the way it is done.

namtab: just update to latest version, i fully fixed the missing / wierd models issuses.

You have to install this program within the GTSA program file(read the read me file ), I am a non PC user and had that figured out within minutes.

Then just send the start up to desktop and you are laughing.

It really is that easy.

It could do with a back up though, replacing files is way to easy and you could end up in a potential mess.

Only due to bad files being added of course, but a wind back option would be nice.

Thanks for trying to help, but I did read the readme file and DID install it in the GTA:SA directory. It still does not work.

can you provide screenshoots and hardware configuration please?

edit: and which game you use it with, it works with 3 different games..

it does have a backup facility in last 2 releases but if you install cars thru manual installer you need to make backups "manually" first because program cannot determine which car will be replaced in manual installer but when you install a ggm package a backup is created if it wasn't yet before.

now thats wierd, can you tell me which drivers you have (GGMM uses opengl)

in worst case it is the card / driver fault, does it support DXT textures? because ggmm doesn't use emulation but hardware for dxt textures, i think dxt textures were introduced with geforce 2 or 3.. that means you won't be able to view cars properly but you can still use the installer and backup facility & other parts of the app.

Yeah that's an oldish driver, grab the latest from www.nvidia.com its 72."" I believe.

@delfi - Got another bug type thing now, loading both GTALC and Myriad Island with GGMM, all the custom cars have this wierd normals problem I guess. A screenshot explains it better.

As far as I know it does let you imput carmods.dat info.

Anyway was just thinking about those carcols.dat lines that use custom colours, is there anyway to encoporate that?

@5kedone - Its not just the whole permission thing, its the fact that you've made your own topic with a list of packaged vehicle mods. As the big red words at the top of this page suggest its only for completed or near-finished model topics. So all I can tell you is that you can go into other's topic and state that you would like to host a pakaged version of their mod for people.

@gtafreak

i have since done this but the idea or that post i made was to have them in one post in GGMM format ONLY so people have trouble installing car mods ect will be able to install them easy with the gta garage mod manager, and i will update the posts as they come out with new cars and bikes ect and get updated i thought this would be easy for people ...... so if u could reopen(reserect)the post then i can just add to that and edit ones im waiting for permission on so there no longer a valid link its just as i tought i have 100megs free web space on FAST UNLIMTED BANDWIDTH SERVER this would be handy for people

thanks

a update (again!)

Version 1.4 (060805):

- added: new improved program look / skin by Tank

- added: manual car installer has a validate button, the configuration is also validated when you click install button.

- added: in san andreas now shows chrome reflections (used by Linerunner, some cars and some boats) (requires GL_EXT_texture_env_combine opengl extension to look properly)

- added: in san andreas mode you can now view second uv map (may be little glitchy) (requires GL_EXT_texture_env_combine opengl extension to look properly)

- added: shininess specular sphere-maps are now displayed (in san andreas) but not in vice city yet (requires GL_EXT_texture_env_combine opengl extension to look properly)

- fixed: zmodeler 1.x cars show their normals correctly now (that is GTA:LC cars too).

- added: propeller blades and bike wheels now also animate

- added: you can now do a little car "show-off" using object rotations in model information window (open doors, etc..)

toooomas, is this ok for you?:

WOW you are the master Delfi. This is more that I could imagine. biggrin.gif

Could you add one more addition? It is the one that shows current vehicle data on "manual install". In my opinion it should be optional, like checkbox mode. NB look at the picture.

user posted image

When I add new vehicles to the game, so often I have to change the data (wheels are too big, colors are lame etc) and this would make it much simpler.

Again, this program is awsome rah.gifrah.gif . Keep up the good work! colgate.gif

I'm in the same boat as Destructo, and it shows this MESS for every vehicle and weapon as soon as the manager opens. This is only for v1.4, since v1.3a displayed everything just fine when opening. I see v1.4a is out, and I haven't tested this yet. Wireframes display as they should. Reloading/refreshing does nothing to 'update' the manager.

Starting from a fresh install of VC, I installed the Realistic Police Car with v1.3a and this same MESS was displayed in the manager, but the car worked and displayed flawlessly ingame. What gives?
