Think I've finally mastered this game. The key is, to tone it down. Don't sprint up to players to tackle and don't hold A. Hold off of them if possible. And be adventurous with your plays. Also, mount attacks with midfielders and no strikers.

 

This years game is so much like the real deal now.

 

And PESFan is down. I wanted to update the transfers

After over 60 games, Ive come to the conclusion that this game blows.

 

Why the f*ck is it so hard to score and why the f*ck do people turn like oil tankers and why the f*ck is everyones first touch so sh*te (especially when bearing down on goal) and why the f*ck do players run like 3 miles an hour.

 

Are konami retarded? This game is so much like fifa now its not even funny.

If you can't score, play on one less star. I think they made each difficulty setting slightly harder. The players turn slower because real life players don't spin 180 degrees in a split second. Your players' first touch is poor because you're holding sprint down like a retard I expect. And fast players don't run slowly, funnily enough. Give the ball to Martins or Cristiano Ronaldo or Ronaldinho.

 

PES5 rocks. The only one thing I don't like about it is how they ruined the chipped through ball. Everything else is spot on.

Don't listen to him, the majority would disagree. Practically everything they've changed has made it better, trust me. It just takes a day to get used to, and then it's awesome.

Your right about the difficulty Gug, Konami basically made each star 1 harder so 5 is more like PES4's 6 and so on.

 

As said above it just takes a few plays to get used to it, the same thing happens whenever a new pro comes out.

You need to get the midfielder, wingers and defenders to play it about a bit and work your way up the pitch. Then look for an opening, a clear shot on goal or whip it in the box. And for the love of god, don't tackle with A. I just run into players to disposses[sp?] the ball and work from there. Also, don't sprint everywhere, you're just asking to loose the ball. But that's how I play

Im loving it, just finished my first season (divison2) of Master League (3 Star). I came second.. I was at a local Pro Evo tournament last night, and was beaten semi final. But I did manage to score a Juninho Pernambucano free kick in the quarters then hit the bar with 1 in the semis. Hes brilliant at them.

I agree with RMT, passing around and playing the ball until there is an opening and I mean an opening for Adriano who can strike the ball so well, I;ve gotten some great goals with him. When is it out for PSP? Am I wrong in thinking there is no Master League for PSP?

Haha, love this game. It makes you think much more tactically than in PES4, where you could just knock the ball past a few defenders and you were in. I found myself jumbling my midfield around according to how things are going, something I've never done in a football game before. Great stuff.

 

Sadly, I'm not too good yet. Started a Treviso ML on 5* with Castolo and co. Had an awful first half of the season - didn't win a match, and was bottom of Div 2. I gambled on Emmanuel Olisadebe from Panathinaikos to get me out of trouble, and had an even worse second half of the season, losing three games on the bounce at one point. Olisadebe gave me a measly three goals, two from penalties, and all happening to be in the same match. Needless to say I got a Game Over.

 

But hey, unlike PES4, it's a challenge, eh?

@Guglielminpietro: Im playing on three star, and it is a challenge, I would like to think of myself as a good player to play against but it is entirely different against the computer. I have just started my master league which I am playing on three star, my second season started. Three games in (I picked so many good teams to play against in Division 1) my score is as follows:

PES 1-0Chelsea (Totti)

Man Utd 1-1 PES (Adriano)

Juventus 0-0 PES

 

If you are wondering why the hell I picked PES, its because I edited my team at the start, call it cheating if you want, but I dont want to go thru the whole game having to wait like two full seasons to get Ronaldinho on my team.

Erm in my opinion and from the majority of people i have spoke to definately pro evolution soccer. I would say pro evolution has better gameplay, and fifa has better graphics.

The fact that you asked that question in a Pro Evo thread makes me think you already know the answer. Pro Evo has been the better game for many years now, and still is.

 

I've been playing it on 2 star since I got it, and I just moved up to 3. Used to play PES4 on 3 stars, and 3 star on PES5 is definitely a bit harder. It's just so hard to score, I can pass it around all day long but can't get near the opponents goal. I end up scraping 1-0 victories against poor sides, like Fulham, Bolton, etc. I'm still enjoying the challenge, but I'm hoping that the more I play, the more I'll learn how to break down defences in this game.

I for one much prefer Pro Evo 5's graphics as well as its gameplay. The stadiums in Pro Evo 5 are sharper than ever, while FIFA's players are out of proportion.

Its f*ckin amazing. Absolutely f*ckin amazing. I dont doubt there are a few flaws i will discover, but there is no way they will detract from the overall satisfaction you get from the game.

 

The "weightiness" that guv mentioned is the effect I have always wanted from a football game, none of that fifaesque pro evo 4 running malarkey. The shooting is immense, and the collision detection great. Adds a whole new emphasis to defence and attack.

 

I cant understand the people who dislike the game stating it is too hard or whatever. persevere and the satisfaction you get from crafting a goal on pro evo is as close as your going to get to real life football.

 

scored a 25 yard curling volley with diago tardelli yesterday. God I got moist.

 

 

 

oh and god bless those lovely chaps over at pesfan for the option file. Ive just returned my max drive to argos claiming it was faulty

Got the game last Friday, love every minute of it so far. The Weightiness at first was a minor annoyance, now i've got used to it i can't imagine it any other way. Some of the goals i've scored on it have been great, you get an immense sense of satisfaction from scoring a goal.

X?? Actually I'd assumed you meant Circle (slide tackle). Why the hell wouldn't you tackle with X? Usually results in a good block tackle, especially successful with the likes of Nesta, Puyol and the like.

I meant A for Xbox controls. Which is X for PS2. When ever I use A/X to tackle it 9/10 times results in me giving away a fowl. So I just close down and wait till the right time to tackle. Which can be about 5 minutes of the AI stroking it about. But I can wait, and I'm deadly on the counter

Edit mode is awesome. Kits that are even closer, and in most cases, bang on the real world counter-parts. Much easiler to transfer players. But still takes ages to get everything up-to-date, if you have no-way to get the PESFan option file

No i got Pro Evo 5 alright. The Munu and everything are different. I mean its the gameplay, theres new animations and stuff and when you sprint the balls runs further away from your feet and the net is more fluid. I've been playing it the past few days and its is a lot different. Sorry for the confusion, it was just my initial response.
