saintdave
Due out round mid October (22nd is rumored) PES5 is probably the last on PS2. Graphically not much has changed, subtle touches have been made like untucked shirts – Some individual skills have been put in the game, like Ronaldinho’s flip-flap, Ronaldo’s many step overs and a lot more. There are more licensed teams this time, including Arsenal and Chelsea due to Henry and Terry’s involvement with Konami. Holland, Spain, and Italy will also be fully licensed, and the leagues (England, France, Germany, Holland, Spain and Italy) will have teams promoted and not relegated teams. The kit editor has improved (stripe shirts are in) and Konami have ditched the stupid eagle hair-do’s and other crazy things in the previous game. I for one cant wait for this game, even though Southampton wont be in it, it's still a much better game than FIFA. dr zoidberg
Looks good - about time they got the licences aswell for all the major Euro leagues. Hopefully it'll have better AI aswell and the computer will be able to beat us without resorting to its usual cheating. At the same time the standard €60 price for new PS2 games is a bit steep since the PS3'll be out next year. Still, I am looking forward to it. liberty-city-cocks-rule
Wow, it looks... exactly like PES4. I'm disappointed by what I've seen of it so far. If the kit editor has stripes then why haven't they bothered to improve the Argentina shirt. I've heard that Porto, Galatasaray, Dinamo Kiev, Rangers and Celtic have been fully licensed but I'll believe that when I see it. And, gosh darn it, I just wish EA would go out of business or something, and that damn Premiership license would end up in Konami's mitts. Arsenal and Chelski is a start, but I wanted more. That said, I'll probably find it the most amazing football game ever, and play it constantly.

Guglielminpietro
Can't wait for this, Pro Evo 4 was definitely the best football game, but it still had a few flaws. Hopefully they can iron out things like the dodgy refs, sh*t commentary and players heading the ball when you want them to volley it. I'm liking the untucked shirts, looks cool, I love little details like that. My created version of me will definitely have the untucked shirt to go with the sagging down socks from PES4. soundcloud.com/TheDamnFineCoats

PCJ.
Ah, yes, about time we got some info. Great news to see at least some licensed Premier League clubs this time round, even if it is only the two. I'll be getting this one on the day of release for sure.
Kevin_79
I didn't like Pro Evolution Soccer 4, like, at all, probably because of the liscensing mostly, but something about the gameplay was weird. Not to mention the difficulty was a little jagged, since there would be such a difference between certain stars. I hate to say it, but at this time, I prefer FIFA... liberty-city-cocks-rule
Here is - Rangers and Dynamo Kiev Arsenal and Real Madrid Chelsea and Milan Porto and Galatasaray Oh well. I guess I believe it then. Nice finds, dave. You don't think they'd license Rangers without Celtic, do you? I prefer FIFA... Nn-ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! gta_king
Looks great, I was kinda hoping Middlesbrough would be licensed but meh can't have everything. I loved PES4 and PES5 looks set to be just as good.
saintdave
Licences would be good but the kit editor is so good, you can make the kit yourself. Here are a few more pics – 1 2
RMT
but something about the gameplay was weird. Too realistic maybe I can't see how people can actually shell out cash for FIFA. It's just a lump of Canadian turd that seems to sell because of it's licenses. Pro Evo on PSP is going to be the dogs testys'. Since you can pretty much transfer your Master League from your PC or PS2 game onto it. And visa versa. Pacrel Focre

Noticed Pat Vieira's in one of those Arsenal pics. Get Hleb in there.

Gazz
im really looking forward to this release... ive played and loved most of the iss/pro evo and winning eleven series', each onehaving their own gameplay (wether its they difference in shooting or taking on players, dead ball situations etc) i dont care much for licensing, sure it makes the game pretty, but gameplay is what will keep you playing... Video 1 Video 2 Video 3 Video 4 Video 5 Video 6 Enjoy That Gudjonsson goal in vid 3 was class, but obviously on 2 stars (assuming the difficulty levels are still the same). saintdave
From what I have read so far the difficulty levels are the same (1-6 stars). Robbie Keane's headed goal was quality.
Kevin_79
I just read up on Fifa 06, and I must honestly say, that the PES series may be in jeopardy since the new Fifa sounds really, really good, as it's basically FM, but you actually play the games. Any word on Benfica being licensed in PES5?
