Hey guys. Got my PSP today and its awesome!

 

But ive now connected it to the computer and I do have some software, but how do I actually put stuff onto the PSP? I cant find the directory. Thanks.

1. Make sure you have actually connected the PSP to your computer

2. On the PSP, goto Setup, USB Connection

3. If you are on Windows XP or some other OS's, the computer should make a beeping noise telling you a new device has been detected.

4. Look in My Computer for a new 'Removable Drive'. This is your PSP's drive.

 

5. For MP3s and such, In the main folder (e.g. X:/ where X is the drive letter) create a new folder called "PSP", and in that create another folder called "MUSIC". Place your music in this folder. (Full name of folder: X:/PSP/MUSIC)

 

6. For Pictures, enter the PSP folder (X:/PSP) and create a folder called PHOTO. Place jpeg pictures in this folder.

 

7. For movies, go to PSP Video 9 and download the latest build.

 

@Whoever had 'SSID' problems:

You don't need to set the SSID yourself. Go back a screen and press "Easy", "Automatic", etc through the entire thing. All you need is a signal and it can do the rest by itself.

I got a psp in july from the states with 2 games, no faults yet and it is absolutely brilliant!

 

I got coded arms- 7/10 FPS which is great for action and guns but it's downfall is it is slightly repetetive.

 

THUG2- 9/10 Just as good if not better than the ps2 version with added wifi gameplay, necessary game for the psp in my opinion

Right, its Videos and Music im having trouble with. But ill try and PSP 9 thing first. My songs get corrupt for some reason.

1. What program lets you rearrange the homebrew file(besides PSickoPortable)

2. What/if program lets you rename the program that shows up on the PSP

Ok ive just installed the 2.0 update and i need help with starting up a network connection.I get stuck on the screen that has SSID on it?Can some body post a tutorial were it tells me step by step in GOOD detail or just tell me what to do on that screen.Kthnx

@president - there are a couple of browsers out there. In all honesty none that I would really recommend. Not unless you are fluent in japanese.

 

Trying to translate.

The Techni no mon browser works in english mostly. You should find that. I won't link to it since it is technically a small part of a game (but it rips no actual gameplay, just the browser, which can be started like any other program).

I don't know which one you have? but the tenchi browser I have is almost all in japanese and the only thing you can change is the text input by pressing select like 3 times to get to english. then it just resets again next time you want to put in a website.

FOR ALL CURRENT 1.51 and 1.52 PSP OWNERS! DO NOT UPDATE TO 2.0 IF YOU WANT HOMEBREW.

Yoshihiro from Team Wab just revealed that he managed to downgrade 1.5x PSPs back to 1.50. He will release the method on September, 1st. w00t! Yoshihiro has stated that the reason for the delayed release is that the program is still buggy, and there is still a risk of bricking the PSP. For those of you who have upgraded to 1.51 or 1.52, or never had the chance to play homebrew before, stay tuned![/b]

 

So hold on to your hats. In the next week or so we will see if this truely is real or not. But I think its a good thing to hope that this does come out.

f*ckin' awesome... First tricking the system to think its running 1.0 to 2.0 Firmwire, and now someone might have figured out how to downgrade, but will it work from 2.0???

supposively the EU psps might come with 1.52 on them and a demo disk with the 2.0 update on it for the user to update. If that has happened. Hold off on updating if you like homebrew or using emulators or anything. Because on the release day supposively WAB will release a 1.52 downgrader to 1.50 so that means there is high hopes for homebrew on EU psps.

 

As for games. Def get lumines. its the best game in the world.

@Datalord: I say rent lumines then at first man, trust me once u try it you will want to buy it. Its nothing to do with tetris. They have versus mode, puzzle mode, 2 player mode. Its tons of fun.

 

Plus you will feel left out when your friends are all playing it and you can't join in.

 

 

I never tried out squares. Is it really that fun? Usually I try every homebrew game but that one just never appealed to me. I guess I will try it now.

Did anyone get CYGWIN to f*ckin' work??? I'm getting the ERROR CONFIGURING BINUTILS, so how do I get it to go through, its f*ckin' pissing me off... Yeldarb's tut sucks major cock, it does explain what to do if you get those f*ckin' errors, so did anyone get it to work???

Two things:

 

1) Completely delete the directory you installed too (Probably C:/cygwin). Restart from the beginning; you missed checking 'BinUtils'.

 

or

 

2) Find/Install DevKitPSP (was on PSPupdates a few days ago). It is the development enviroment, in an easy installer format.

I want to read Ebooks on my PSP and I used a programm called Paperless Printer

to make my pdf Books jpgs, but this fu**ing Printer is not able to output the files

in order, so everythings a bit mixed up, I just don´t want to search for page 23 of 200

cause it´s not next to page 22

So my question is is there a programm (homebrew) that I can use to convert my pdf Books

for use with PSP without mixed pages???

I already tried a few PSP Reader Apps but I haven´t found a got one yet, so please tell me...

Afraid not. And this time Lemmings is being developed by Team 17 who are famous for Worms. DMA (Rockstar) Sold the copyright to Pysgnosis who then got bought by SCEE who handed the project to Team 17.

 

They're hoping to keep it true to the original, which means i'll be nuking every level just to hear the "oh no"

If you can scour the net and find a pdf-to-jpeg program, then sure it can work, with folders for each book and such. I'll look around for one, as I'm sure that one exists.

 

Or, better yet, why not just use pagemaker (or whatever PDFs are made in) and save the output as jpgs?

 

@Datalord: Someone, very reputable in the PSP homebrew department, has claimed he has found a way to downgrade 1.51 and 1.52 psps to 1.5, allowing you to use homebrew. I'd hold off on upgrading to 2.0 to see what happens, as you wouldn't want to be missing out on running others/your own homebrew, would you?
