wish they'd come out with the 8gb ASAP tho~

 

found I've been using my psp as a portable media hub more than a handheld game console~

 

battery lasts longer too (well, naturally since stuff are read from the stick than the UMD)

8 gigs? Good lord. How much would those cost, 800 bucks?

haha actually sony is in talks of making a 8gb. I read it on pspupdates when they first released the info about the 4gb memory cards.

Well I managed to get a memory card in the end. I traded in Ridge Racer 2, which I got free with the package deal I bought my PSP with. It had a value of £20 so I ended up paying only £5 for a 512mb memory card!

I’m not into that kind of racing game anyway, so I knew as soon as I got it included in the bundle deal what I could do with it to make getting it useful.

After playing the demo I though RR2 was pretty cool, but I guess if you don;t like racing games then you won't like it. I'd buy it, but all my money going towards 360 games.

Well that depends, are you just talking about where to put them or how to convert them? Theres many programs out there that convert video to PSP support formats.

before that I figured it was just "drag and drop" to "video" folder like I'd do with the mp3's

 

almost made me think my psp was borked or something~ haha

Hello everyone. I recently installed devhook and followed the instructions about twenty times. The problem is whenever I press start to launch devhook I get a message that reads something like "blah blah blah reboot system," and then my psp crashes. Has anyone else recieved this message and does anyone know how to fix it?

Even more good news, Sony released another Firmware 3.02 which also still can be emulated with Devhook since it adds nothing but security fixes.

I'm not sure on videos, but I think in higher firmwares, maybe 2.71 and up, you can just drag them into a movie folder, you might have to create it. IF all else fails, just download PSP Video 9, it converts and puts them right on the memory stick for you, no dragging, dropping, or anything of the sort.

 

 

As for 3.01/2, yawn. I don't have a PS3, so I don't see any reason to even update from 2.71. Except for ISO loading, but no games even require 3x yet. 3.0 just failed to deliver for PSP users.

Easiest Guide For High Qual. Videos on your PSP

For Custom Firmware (2.71 SE-C and HarleyG's) And for Firmware 1.5

 

1. Download PMP Mod 1.02 here.

2. Download PMP Video Conversion Kit here

3. Extract PMP Mod, and copy the 2 folders into PSP/GAME

4. Extract PMP Video Conversion Kit and run PMP Simple.exe

5. Select the .AVI File to Encode and select the Save spot for the Encoded .pmp file.

6. Hit Add Batch and then select the batch in the Step 5 box.

7. Now hit Encode PMP.

8. Finally copy the .pmp file to PSP/VIDEO

9. Go to the Games menu then memory stick. And Run PMP Mod.

10. Select the video file and press X.

 

The controls for PMP Mod are:

X - Play

Square - Pause

D-Pad Left&Right - Rewind and Fastfoward.

Triange - To Menu

Home - Exit Program.

 

Following that, you should be playing more high quality videos than converting to MP4 format.

i did a search but didnt find anything, can anyone tell me how to unlock a memory stick (max memory, 1gb memory stick) only got the psp and the stick today, put it in and i cant reformat it cos it says its locked, tried looking on net but no luck, and didnt find anything in manual, am i doing something wrong, or have i missed something?

i wanna play VCS but dont want to bother if i cant save it.

Hey peoples, If you want the new LocoRoco Christmas Demo for Fw 3.00 instead of 3.02 (For people who can't be bothered to change it themselves) PM me, I can confirm it works on 3.00 too, also, Is there any news of Holes in 3.00 yet?

Good news, everyone! That former problem that my PSP had (not being able to connect to a computer is fixed). Turns out it was actually the cable. What stalled me was that the cable had two ends - the type B USB male and the battery male. After the division, something went wrong, because the battery part of the cable was working, but the data wasn't. So yeah, I'mma get a new cable and I'm rolling.

 

Which means I'll get Vice City Stories! It hurt, but I was stalling it for Cheat Device and for homebrew all together. So, where can I get DevHook? I'll be running 1.5 and as I said, I'll pretend to run Vice City Stories, so it must emulate a 2.71, I believe. Also, if I try to emulate 3.0, will it fix the glitches?

If the great news with regards to 2.80 kernel dumping wasn't enough for those who were on lower firmwares, Dark_AleX's latest release of 3.02 OE-A will definitely make your day! Don't worry, while the name makes it sound like a totally different hack, it is in essence, just like the earlier SE firmwares. What you get with the latest version is amazing to say the least.

 

Here's the full list of new features in 3.02 OE-A:

 

    * Runs 3.02 vsh

    * Can run homebrew using 3.02 kernel

    * UMD Video region free

    * PSP kernel region selector

    * O/X button selector

    * WMA enabling option

    * Flash player enabling option

    * Pops (SCE PSONE emulator) - DRM protection hacked (Which means that you can now your game on more than one psp, and share them over the internet)

 

You know what that means. If you downloaded a PS1 game legally from the Sony store, you can share them with others!

 

I myself will be upgrading to this Custom firmware. Will you?

You what's even better news? Dark_Alex is working on 3.02 OE B that he says will be able to play any PS1 game that you "own" and not just the ones Sony have in their stores! Its not released yet but going by Dark_Alex's amazing work it won't be long!

that's great. I have to sit here and watch other people have fun I'm on 3.00.

 

Anyway has anyone here played midnight club 3 bloody long game I'm still at 74% and played it for 86 hours so far. Still got a long way to go before I finish.

 

now I got some money to spend. What'd do you recommend getting:-

 

medal of honor heroes

GTA:VCS

metal gear solid portable ops

Coded arms

tom clancy's splinter cell essentials

or wait for tom clancy's rainbow six:vegas

 

I plan on getting a tactical shooter/action adventure or FPS. I need a change. So far the games I played were LCS, burnout, Midnight club3, WRC.

 

What really matters for me is an exceptionally long story line- A la MC3 good graphics and overall good gameplay. Any suggestions?

to tell if the psp is ta-082, it's from the the little text on the upper right portion when you open the umd hatch? something like "IC1003" amiright?
