Just disable Auto-Protect while you're transferring the overflow.tif file to the PSP.

Hey guys

Im thinking of getting a PSP, cus i tried one this friday at a party and played it for about 12 hours, which is damn long as I've heard the battery blows. I only played FIFA but the graphics were much better than i thought, and the screen wasnt sh*te.

Anyway, how much are these, and how long does the battery last? How big is the standard memory, and would i want to get a memory stick? I have wireless internet, can i browse the net like i can on a pc? Can i play online?

Thanks in advance.

In the US I think a standard PSP value pack goes for around $250, you only get a 32MB memory stick and that really only covers your save games and maybe 2 or 3 MP3's so you'll be wanting to buy atleast a 1GB memory stick especially if you want to add videos and homebrew to your PSP. Battery life varies depending on the game and what your doing with the PSP, GTA LCS gives you about 2 hours and a half of gameplay which is a demanding game. Other games may give you longer, the good news is you can buy higher capacity batteries and extra batteries so you don't run out so much. You can browse the net on your PSP but of course not with all the fancy extra's that your PC has. You officially can't play online only with people around you , unofficially there are ways that let you play online similar to how people have managed to get Xbox running over the net without Xbox Live.

News

Possible homebrew on 2.01/2.5 because of editing EC's GTA LCS cheat device... Best news in a long time, hopefully it works out

@PresidentKiller - I downloaded hundreds of times from PSPupdates.com and the overflow.tif is never in the download(MPHDowngrader/PSP/PHOTO/'not in here')

Well, I've just downloaded it myself and the file is in there. You have to keep in mind that Norton is a sneaky bastard and keeps "doing things" even after disabling Auto-Protect... in this case, Norton must be deleting the file each time. confused.gif

You have two options:

1. Use another antivirus (tounge.gif)

2. Go to a friend's computer (who doesn't have Norton, of course), get the file and put it on the PSP.

It works on 2.0(i believe) if you have that, but nothing too spectacular at the moment...

Yeah, but its kinda pointless as we already have the 2.0 homebrew loader. This unfortunate exploit must be run from inside the game GTA. So honestly even though this works for 2.0 it really is for 2.01 and 2.50 users. What I am looking forward to is a downgrader from those things. That is what would be cool. Everyone seems to freak out on the idea stating that we should focus on homebrew on the higher firmwares, but by having a downgrader we can insure a safe path back to a firmware that works with homebrew, that way if it ever ends up where full on homebrew cannot be done, then we can always have that little back up. smile.gif

Well, when I was downloading the Snes Mario Allstars thingy, the certain file wasn't in the Zip file until I extracted it. Try extracting everything into an empty folder in My Documents or something and see if it's there.

well ive been playing with the emus for awhile so i decided today to go a little further back and pick up a nes one.

i got the unnofficial netser j emu and its just as good as the others i have.

pretty sweet i can now play the original games i used to have,

like ikari warriors, castlevania, metroid, metal gear and blaster master.

i havent played these games since the nes first came out so the nostalgia was quite overwhelming, im surprised i even remember what games i had owned way back then.

I didn't really like the NES games.

At first I downloaded a NES emulator and played some games, but I was pretty disapointed so I decided to get the SNES one and I haven't looked back.

I just got my psp and had to ugrade to 2.0 because of gta.I plugged the usb cable and the psp detcted the connection but the computer didnt. The first time i plugged it in, it told me that windows does not recognize the device and the 2nd time i plugged it in, it told that the connection would work at a reduced speed bcuz i plugged a high speed usb device into a low speed usb port.I checked My Computer and the connection isnt there. What else am i forgettin?

well i decided today that im sick of seeing lcs sitting in the plastic.

however i dont want to upgrade my 1.5 because its just too much hassle to go back and forth.

so...

i woke up today and decide to buy a second psp (damn you sony),

as soon as my gf wakes up ill take the trip to best buy (where i can use my credit card) and buy another one.

im hoping that they have some of the gigapacks there bc i only have a 512mb as a backup (i have a 1 gig for my 1.5).

anyways does anyone know what version the gigapacks have?

if its above 2.0 id rather just use my 512 card so i have a little bit of homebrew.

of course i dont know what version the regular psps are either so hopefully the guys there know. (edit: the guys at best buy were clueless and didnt know what version it was)

anyways by night end i should finally be able to play gtalcs and still have my 1.5 homebrew, frickin sweet.

too bad about this whole issue with lcs not playing on 1.5 though,

i couldve used the money to buy an xbox 360. confused.gif

just goes to show where my priorities lie lol.

i figure by the time i pay off the crdit card from both psps and my gfs mp3 player i got her for christmas the ps3 will be out and ill get that.

i guess ill have to live in debt this year bc of my gaming habit,

hopefully nothing good comes out next year other than games. tounge.gif

sorry for the rant. wink.gif

edit: well i just brought it home and set it up.

unfortunately the screen had 6 dead pixels, my other just had one. mad.gif

i have a 2 year warranty so i figured towards the end of that ill just return it for a new one using the dead pixels as an excuse.

i couldnt get ahold of a giga pack so i just got another regular one.

it came as a version 1.51 that i upgraded to 2.0 using the gtalcs disc.

so after i play that a bit ill have to check out what 2.0 has for homebrew,

ill only get what i dont have on my 1.5.

any suggestions?

Does anyone know the steps to putting custom tracks on Burnout for the PSP?

@Sharkey- Damn, I can't believe you bought another PSP just to keep your homebrew tounge.gif .

I would of just bit the bullet and upgraded to 2.0.

Anyway sucks about the 6 dead pixels. I think I've only got one I know of.

@GTA3Rockstar- Did you download the MPH downgrader with the link I gave you? Because I used that and it worked fine for me. smile.gif
