rudi246
Alright, so here's the deal "Cannot find a suitable display mode" This should look familiar to some people. I've searched all over and tried many things to end this. I've reset my resolution, I got Directx 7.0, all my drivers seem to be working properly. I have Windows 95 and have Directx 7.0 (incase you weren't paying attention). I know GTA can work because I used to have it on my computer, got rid of it for a while, but fortunately had it on a CD and reinstalled it. Now I get this crap. Is there some patch I need? Do I need a better Directx? Is there a certain resolution to run GTA?
Sektor
I think the free version requires directx 8 or newer. The old version should work with directx 7. Are you trying to run the windows version? What video card do you have?
rudi246
I don't know what video card I have. Is there a way to find out? I think the version of GTA I have is a pirated version. I really don't want to do the 300+mb download from Rockstar. Like I said before, I had GTA working in the past, and I havn't changed my video card. Sektor
You can get a patch from here. What exe are you running to start it?
rudi246
I use gtawin.exe to run it. I've also tried the .bat file, but that just runs gtawin.exe too.
Tornado Rex
I think the version of GTA I have is a pirated version. You pirated a game that's offered for free? ~ Proud Supporter of the Child's Play Charity! | GTANET + Child's Play ~
