buzz blast
well now there only selling AO/un-mod allowed PC versions of SA now right? well sa-mp is a mod, how can we use it and get it if it is a mod?
Cam
I dont think we need to worry. I'd like to see Rockstar try and stop us from modding. They will most likely make it so the Hot Coffee mod doesnt work, I doubt they dont want us to mod, after all, its their fault for including the code/anims in the shipped game, why take it out on us? Agret
As i've said before I expect it will be the same game re-released but without the actual hot coffee content in the data files. Did you guys hear the same guy who went after Hot Coffee and caused all this is going after The Sims now? How crazy is that.
kyeman
I'd like to see Rockstar try and stop us from modding. This is Camaro's personal opinion about modding in general and does not reflect the intentions of the team as a whole. We're keeping a close eye on R*'s modding policies to make sure there no risk of any legal action for creating this mod. I think it can be said, however, that a rockstar that starts heckling his/her own fans isn't going to be a rockstar for much longer.

Not that I want them to keep us from modding, don't get the wrong idea, but I'm interested on how they can possibly stop us from modding.
f3llah1n
it would be hard enough for them to do so in the first place, and if they do manage to stop all modding compeltely [highly unlikely] it will be a nail in their brand-new coffin and they mgiht as well not bother making it i hope thier looking at it from a wider point of view, and will realise the amount of Warez resulting would be enormous.. and im sure someone out there would be able to hunt out the differences from 1.0 and 1.1 and make an 'un-patch' I hate to be making predictions right now, but I doubt they will be able to stop mods like SA-MP being made, just make it akward for all parties involved
CAPON3
I think this patch isnt going to effect SA-MP that much.. it's mainly to stop the Hot Coffee Mods (& removing data/files which they left behind) i can't see R* putting extra security on, just to stop modders modding it there always a way around things ;p Edited July 27, 2005 by CAPON3

Luke
I think we can be reasonably confident that outright modding isn't going to be banned, that's certainly the impression I've been getting. That said, it's hard to know just what R* will be doing, the chances are it would probably just remove some animations and models from the game, and perhaps an altered EXE that prevents Hot Coffee in particular from working. They'd have no good reason to be totally anti-modding. I'm just a little worried about this new patch they'll be bringing out, hopefully there wont be any change in their legal position for modding. adam broke it. Agret
I hope the game is re-released here as since we have no AO rating it was pulled from shelves.
