kelltech 1
My VC is pretty choppy during play, specifically if I change scenes like going down stairs at the mansion or crossing bridges or when I enter vehicles the game freezes for a few seconds. I've turned graphics way down and tried everything in the pinned thread. I shouldn't have to turn the graphics down though. I am running XP pro, amd xp 2 ghz, 1 gig of ddr ram and a 256mb fx5200 xfx video card. I could try uninstalling but I dont want to loose my saved games. Where would those be located? Thanks for any help anyone can offer!

nightwalker83 7
Does you computer meet the minimal requirements to run the game? The saves are stored in the "My Documents\Vice City Saves" folder they won't be deleted if you uninstall the game. However, if you want to make sure back up your save game to a different folder. Demarest 24
When was the last time you defragged? What other apps are running in the background? You should try addressing the issue instead of random things.
kelltech 1
I usually defrag 3 or 4 times a week if not more, but now my updated driver is whiting out all of my color so I'll have to fix that first
kelltech 1
Well, after updating video drivers, defragging and completely reinstalling vc it STILL has this stupid frame freezing issue when changing scenes and getting in cars. It seems it could have to do with the sounds like the radio starting up when I first get in the car. Of course I have the vc radio on the hard drive to eliminate the need to read from the disc. My pc pwns games much bigger than this with no problems, I just dont get it win xp pro 1 gig ddr ram 2.0 ghz amd xp 256mb xfx nvidia fx5200 160gb western digital hard drive
Demarest 24
Geez. With a system like that, you should be running VC no problems. Have you called R* support?
