CTM
Hi, team A very short question from me: is there any functionality provided for making separate user accounts for people to use a server? (For example, someone would need to have their own user name and password to access the server, rather than just the same password for everyone.) The only reason that I ask is because I would really like to set up a huge private SA-MP server for a forum that I visit, but game server passwords tend to get leaked very quickly over there. Some sort of user account system would help me to make it almost impossible for outsiders to get in. Thanks!
Agret
That's actually a very cool idea. I hope they implement that. I also hope they make it so you can assign certain accounts 'admin' so that they may spawn cars and stuff in-game.
f3llah1n
admin? what kind of an idiot would actually have an admin in the game...
Bernard Jazz
i would, if an ingame admin spots a cheater then they can type in a command and ban the turd instead of having to pause, alt+tab, scrolling through a list of names, etc.
Ratt
I doubt this 'user' thing will be implemented as i would presume a downloadble server will be released instead of having their own servers. Clan matches etc based you could write user scripts for it anyway like in MTA.
f3llah1n
offical scripts for the servers that are on from the start.... but id say there would have to be offical servers to have the 100 per district feature - I doubt many commercial hosting companies would want to host that, and i hope there arent that many people who could host it on their hoem connection.. really hope.. cause if you do your a bastard and I hate you... Clan matches etc based you could write user scripts for it anyway like in MTA. That's exactly what we mean. Restrict a certain server (that you run yourself) to a list of users/passes you define. You could set on/off unregistered users in the game and set certain accounts as admin accounts so in-game they can kick/ban and spawn cars and execute scripts and such via the chat interface. CTM
ill not even bother answering that with a smart and witty reply... Please don't. It has nothing to do with the thread. Anyway, thanks for the support, guys. Hopefully such a feature will be implemented after some consideration by the devs. I understand that they're probably far too busy to check out feature requests at the moment, though, so it'll have to wait. Agret
I'm not sure exactly what work is being done with the client coding on pause while awaiting the new patch. Probarbly work on the UI still and maybe work on the server?
Spooky
The SA:MP client is on hold at the moment. Work is continuing on the SA:MP server though. As for the feature request, it may be implemented (or possible to implement by the user) but I have to say, it's quite far from the top of the to-do list.
