First LVS Screens!

 

We are proud to release our first screenshots

few notes.

 

~It will have cars and peds in the streets

~It will have a new map

~The cities will be in the ocean(in these screenshots its on the land, we will move it all at once later)

~It will have San Andreas, Vice city, and Liberty city all in one game.

~Not known about file size since we haven't touched vice city yet.

You've pre-lit the dff's a tad too much.

were still converting textures, dont expect nice smooth textures with perfect lighting when its in beta smile.gif

wOW Cool.. i had been waiting for this kind of mod for a long time. So that means we can travel from vice city to liberty city and then to san andreas anytime? How will they be connected? colgate.gif

You might also want to see GTU, I don't know, no offense but this mod just looks plain crap, and GTU has all the islands next to eachother, so I don't know what to think.

wow, that looks promising! smile.gif if you want, i might be able to help with a bit of scm coding, to add new flight routes, etc. you could even add the entire LC and VC storyline into it! that is, if we don't hit the SCM size limit.. but alot of LC and VC's code is help stuff, loading par

ts of the map, adding ambient sounds etc., which is not needed in SA (no loading zones, who needs help stuff (we can even optimize the original SA code, like ripping the help code off), and ambient sounds are now stored in the map) we can shorten the code alot.

also, some non-progress-dependent parked cars, pickups etc are inside the map now in SA and not created by the SCM, more stuff to shorten the code there. smile.gif

anyway that'd be awesome. probably you could even use

the marco's bistro part from the original SA map to make it enterable. also, you could simply remove that part from the SA map, and modify the original story SCM so that it plays in the real LC, and the player doesnt just fly off towards the ocean, but indeed flies to LC and lands himself. and now that we have real air traffic, maybe the fake airplane paths could be removed from the LC and VC airports.

 

about the LC part, will the train be the real train from SA or will you simply r

ecreate the fake one from LC?

 

 

edit: sorry for the sucky line break stuff, but currently my proxy handles POSTDATA as text, which i'll rewrite as soon as i have some time..

We know about GTU, and they have not even started on mapping, they are more about the missions, they already have actors and such...dontgetit.gif .. Keep in mind guys, that moo mapper is not out, we are doing this simply by changing a few IDE, coordinates, etc. ALL MANUALLY.

 

When moo mapper comes out or another program that does the same thing, all we will do with that program is use it to move everything out into the ocean.

 

We have not edited any dff's at the moment(I dont think the other members in the team have) so those are straight from the gta 3 game.

 

As to the release date... the first beta version might be out in about 2 months(guessing). We might have problems with some textures in Vice city. GTA: LVS 1.0 may come out at the end of 2005 or beginning of 2006(guessing).

 

And I think we are ok for missions, Michael(the guy who made the team and had the idea) is very good with missions, and missions wont come till later, like in the full 1.0 version.

He was kaboom, they guy who supposidly made the screenshots. HE ACTUALLY STOLE THEM from a guy named XRK which posted his screenshots at http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=202840

it doesn't matter anyway, if you don't have to convert dff's, you should just put them into the img and copy the ipl's.

i agree, the teams shouldn't be racing on who puts all of them together faster, but instead, they should work on the same project improving it together. smile.gif

yes, but San Andreas, Vice City and L

iberty City aren't nearly as close together as they will be in this mod. so, realism is not really the key here - pure fun, instead biggrin.gif

 

of course you could also make it like you can only play through the 3 storylines in the vice -> sa -> lc order.

yea people should get together, yet all the online gtasa's arnt, its ok if theres someone competeing with you, then you will try to make it better and faster.

He meant that GTA VC was set in 1987. Although I think he failed to consider that a city that existed in 1987 most likely exists 5 years later... rolleyes.gif

No because cars from san andreas will be spawned and droven by peds. Im sure the mod will be made to give it the same feel as san andreas. Same peds, same cars and same weapons. All of san andreas features will be in there biggrin.gif
