[REQ] Territory glitch for PC

If anybody could investigate if it is possible to glitch the PC version to "unlock" the extra 100 (or so) territories. As it seems the territory glitch doesn't work as successfully as in the PS2 version of the game, it would interest a lot of PC players. I want to gangwar properly all over SA smile.gif

That would be awesome, I left my comp on for days and didnt got more then 20 new. Isnt it possible to use the X Y Z coordinates? And spawn somewhere deep into the ocean? I hope someone can mod this, that would be the best mod SA can get inlove.gif .

A mod would be great. I can't believe that the games has been out for over a month on the PC and no one hasd done it yet. If I knew more about programming I would have done it a long time ago but unfortunately I'm a loser and have no idea even where to start. It seems like the concept is easy enough, someone just has to take the time and do it. It would be greatly appreciated.

Wow.. hey is it possible to default certain territories as different gangs? Is it possible to create additional gangs?

 

I would love to see the chinese, japanese, and vietnamese mafia in san fierro and the cuban russian and italian mob in las venturas..

 

Maybe even some redneck homelander and mormon fundamentalists in the sticks!

Gang wars are probably the main thing that disappointed me about San Andreas.. Great ideal, but poorly executed.. Better than Vice City, but it's a toss up when compared to GTA3.

If this works that would be great however I don't know where to paste that. I specifically would like at least one Vagos so I can get that damn Tornado again. I never saved one and once I wiped out all of the Vagos it never spawns anywhere. Thanks for the code, this is definately a start. I tried flying out to sea for a while and gained one extra territory. I might leave it on some time today or tomorrow and see what happens until this glitch becomes a real mod.

Main.scm?

 

I flew out to sea SE from the center of the map and got a new territory in LV.

 

You might be able to do the same thing with that Teleporter trainer.

 

Also, for some reason, the further you go out to sea, your character eventually starts shaking and warping.. Go out further and the environment disappear and frame rate will decline.. Why do you think that happens?

So we've got 10 gangs in game.. I would LOVE to have 10 gangs complete with territories. The ballas must have originally been in black gang colors.. Which I'm planning on turning my gang into as soon as I can find out what controls gang map colors. The Vagos are in yellow, Varriors are in sky blue. The Rifa? not sure about the asian gangs. There is already an Italian MAFIA. There are 3 unused gangs in game as well. This is good. One of the few times I've seen Rockstar actually give us 'spare' slots for anything.

 

I request a 'Red' Russian mob. Make the other gangs other colors. orange, green, black, pink, white, black, 'grey' if needed, etc.

 

Are there any corresponding dff's and txd's for the unused peds? If not, what peds 'belong' in those gangs? It would be easier if a bunch of us try to work on this ourselves. It doesn't look like it would be that hard, unless we have to modify the main.scm.. I haven't tried to do that yet.. don't know if there is a main.scm program already. Barton Waterduck might have made one by now. Didn't he make the ones for Vice and GTA3?

 

I am going to change the colors of either the Ballas or Grove Street. This modification also sounds too simplistic just on its own. I would like to request for any programmer to add in a series of missions for each game. Nothing fancy, just stuff we've been seen done before. Remember the telephone missions? rolleyes.gif

 

Aren't there already telephones all over the cities? Program missions in each gangs territory all over the city. Do missions for that particular gang. For SFX use, we could make a single muffled sound (like someone is on the line we can't understand), show the mission description with the subtitles. Missions like, pick up this 'gang' car so you can infiltrate and kill their boss. This was done in a Cuban mission in GTA3 and a Haitian mission in Vice. That's simple. Have straight forward missions like "Get to Clown's Pocket in Leone territory and whack the fake Elvis". Just simple missions like this for each city or gang territory. I'll make the sfx file from a sample of the gta3 telephone guy and muffle it if someone can get it in the game properly.

 

To top it off, you could not be allowed to wipe out 'ANY' gang. Just don't allow CJ to start gang wars with a particular gang on their last territory. Also, I'd like to see a more intuitive gang war system altogether. Would it be possible to allow the game to spawn new enemy territories, causing wiped out gangs to 'creep up' again. If there is 100 territories on the map, can you keep it to where not all territories are gang territories? I just think that there are areas on the map That would look good to keep clear. I don't honestly think any gang could control an entire state and not cause the feds from taking it down? Also, gang wars should be alot harder than they are now. If you get enough ammo, you can easily wipe out any gang with the assault rifle. What do you think?

Wow, that's a lot. Everything sounds good but where to start? Rockstar did specifically state that SA would allow players to mess around and change the games much easier so the extra gang slots don't really surprise me. As for the warping of the character when you go to far out, I think I read somewhere it's because you're stretching out the map and the textures in the game but I'm not sure.

Teleporting didn't work, I tried it. Any other ideas?

 

By the way I think that "rival black gang" refers to the color of the gang members skin and not there uniforms, therefore Ballas were always purple, but it would still be cool to change there uniform colors.

Maybe someone should dedicate some serious time to this and take a boat/plane/car whatever you prefer and go out to sea for a week and see what happens... just an idea.

There's only a limited time you can travel out to sea. Eventually the character will starve. I had full muscle and about half fat and he starved in 3-4 hours. It only created 1 extra territory, so that was hardly worth the time.

 

EDIT: Well, I guess we could try the "Never Hungry" cheat to get around that, then jump in the water and drown after a while.... Anyone tried that yet?

 

I think most of San Andreas (the cities anyway) is controlled by one gang or another. It's just that their territory isn't marked like the Ballas and Vagos' are. It would be very nice if you could see that territory and start to take it over. I know I'd love to take over Aztecas turf. I helped those mofos take their turf back from the Vagos and I'm rewarded by getting shot at when I go back!?!

 

I don't know how the turf colors should work. That's 10 or so different colors to go through. I don't think Red would be a good idea though, since that's the color of a turf under attack and it might be confusing.

 

If someone does do this mod, I vote that a turf can't be attacked by a rival gang unless your character is actually in that city, otherwise this could be more trouble than it's worth. I once got a turf attack warning while in Tierra Robada, but I think the game was just glitching or something. That's not supposed to happen as far as I know.

First, I tried pasting in Opius' code in the main.scm file using SABuilder033. I then started a new game(since I heard that in order for changes in the main.scm to happen in the game you have to start over again) and spent all night getting it past Doberman (the mission that unlocks gang territories) but it didn't work. I'm pretty sure I did everything right so maybe the code is wrong, but I'm not sure. Maybe I have to get further into the game but since I don't know a lot about programming I really can't say.

Second, I don't think that leaving a machine on for a week is going to work because once you get the initial few territories you don't gain anymore as time passes. But then again you can't know unless you try.

My best guess is that Rockstar spent the six months in between the release dates of the PS2 version and the PC version fixing this glitch so that it is impossible to fill up the map with gang territories. Because apparently they didn't spend that time fixing all the bugs that are in the game.

Unless someone can create a different code I don't think we'll ever get all the territories unlocked on the new versions. I'll still keep trying though, at least until the next GTA game is released.

Wouldn't there be an easier solution if you 'had' to travel out to sea instead of teleporting. Make the jet go faster.

I guess that depends, because if you "have" to actually travel out there then is the game tracking the distance that you travel or the time that you spend travelling. Either way, I'll try both because now that I have 100% this is the last thing I want to do in the game., It'd be easier if someone who can program went into the code and found this glitch and discovered how it actually works. This might be asking a lot since there are tons of lines of code that need to be thoroughly gone through.

do this glitch work on the PC version or only on PS2, and if yes have anybody a savegame for PC version,

 

i try several times but it will not work, i also do not have the territory at "san marina" i have 53 territorys i think, 51 grove, 1 ballas, 1 vagos.

 

i also try to initiate the glitch by teleporting, scualo, jetmax, hydra, shamal....

 

please a save game with unlocked territorys....

Just wanted to bump this up to the top so that maybe someone can solve this. I'm out of ideas all that can be hoped for is that someone takes the time to find which code to change and how to change it. I've been trying to get this to work for the PC for over a month now and am about to give up.

I think no one has solved this yet because not as many people check the mod request boards. I'm going to post a link to this thread in the Cheats and Tricks board again in hopes that more people check out this thread.

 

By the way the reason no one is posting a save game is because no one can get this to work. If someone had a save game then that means they would've figured out how to work this glitch and therefore we wouldn't still be trying to figure this thing out.

maybe its like an easter egg they put in, to fly out for hours and get gang territories, maybe we could do some more weird stuff like idling in a helicopter in mid air for an hour, stuff like that... maybe easter eggs are all over

so i was searching and reading yesterday for one hour in the main.scm for the territory code... first i found the territory code for the mission after the returning to los santos and count the territorys, i count 59 but 2 of them are double (may they switch off self) and don´t forget the aztecas they have 4 territorys, i think (can not taken over by gang war)

mmm will that code work in a normal scm aswell?

Yes. But not without heavy alterations.

If you want a pre-assembled SCM just wait a little, I'm going to put it into a storyline SCM and make a full blown mod out of it tonight.

 

I've also made a spawning code for non-retarded homies and am thinking of including that too.
