Raisng criminal rating

Recommended Posts

I'm now done with game 100% and it seemed to be a great idea to boost my criminal rating now as there isn't much to do anymore. So I went on 30 minute killing spree destroying all kinds of stuff and I thought that I would receive around 10000 criminal rating for such spree.

But my rating changed 120 points nervous.gifcryani.gif

Searched forums and search didn't return anything usefull dozingoff.gif

So can anybody suggest me a good way to boost my criminal rating cuz I wanted to become King of SA colgate.gif

I now every million gives you 200 points so maxing cash would give you 200k points. Then what...

I think I read something in another topic that says to put a lot of planes into the huge hanger in Verdent Meadows then blow it all up; let the hanger close; blow up again; etc.

Also, doing gang wars help raise levels.

100% gang territory so gang wars aren't going to work whatsthat.gif

And now I'm going to check thing about planes

Are you willing to cheat?

During the mission 'Air Raid' for Zero. I kept doing the cheat 'Blow up all cars'. I had around 5000CR before the mission. After the mission, I had around 28000.

Yes, I've also heard of this way. I didn't try it but it may work...!

This rank is not very important for me. In Vice City there was something like a "news ranking" that counted actually the crime rate of Tommy. In San Andreas I've not seen anything like that but I think it was intresting smile.gif .

I not at any cost WON'T CHEAT Maybe it's just me against world but I cheat only for fun and never save after cheating alien.gif

I tried put-planes-in-hangar-then-blow-them-up-close-garage-reopen-and-blow-them-up-again method. It seems max of planes for tht hangar is 4 and after every blow-them-up I had to save to get my wanted level off. And I got 120 for every time

Keep 'em coming....

CR stats improved the same as VC.

Kills-- 1 pt each-- only credited if you save your game or go to a pay n spray-- total legitimate kills are kills that have been credited to your CR.

Planes and helis destroyed-- 30 pts each

Money-- 1 pt per $5000

Accuracy-- 5 pts per 1% (SA capped this at 100%-unlike VC in which you could go way over 100%)-- the game does not show accuracy in your stats but it does still calculate it for our CR (I checked).

Criminals killed on vigilante - 1 pt each (in addition to the kills listed above)..

One of the faster ways to blow up planes and helis is to get the hunter and blow up the 5 or 6 planes at the LV airport, circle back around and they will all respawn.

Blowing up the planes and helis at verdant meadows works ok too-- fly to the south to the road and back and they will all respawn.

Still painfully a long time to 1,000,000 and quite boring....

So, does it count if you die or get busted before you save (or go to paynspray) ?

OK thanks. I was considering doing a couple of hundred of vigilante missions in the hunter to boost my rating up. Now I know to be pissed if I die! smile.gif

On a side note to the Vigilante Missions ... if you intent to do a Marathon stock up on FAT !

I'm currently only on Level 63 and I'm losing Muscle fast dammit and I just came out of the Desert to SF so it will be a little harder to Eat and return to the Heli.

OK. I read through, tried everything and it seems that only two ways are somewhat fast

1. Earn money (1pt for 5000, 200 for 1million, 200'000 for 1 billion which I think is max)

2. Driving around LV airport (total of 7 planes which respawn, no cops disturbing + additional police helis)

(*WARNING: blush.gif LONG POST*) A couple of things to add..I have PS2 version...

I tried put-planes-in-hangar-then-blow-them-up-close-garage-reopen-and-blow-them-up-again method. It seems max of planes for tht hangar is 4 and after every blow-them-up I had to save to get my wanted level off. And I got 120 for every time

An idea if you are trying this method. Once in the Hunter, start the Vigilante mission. The last few times I did that at the Verdant Meadows Airstrip, I did not get any stars for blowing up the aircraft in that area. Of course you may have to reset the mission once you run out of time.

******************************

On a side note to the Vigilante Missions ... if you intent to do a Marathon stock up on FAT

This is absolutely true. Stock up on Fat and Muscle if possible. Although Muscle is time consuming and may not be worth the extra effort.

On one of my recent non-stop Vigilante runs, I was on level 280 and stopped to eat (removing any stars first of course). I entered the Cluckin' Bell in Downtown SF, downed a bunch of meals really quick (60 seconds before Vigilante Mission ends), stepped back outside and to my horror wow.gif my Hunter had disappeared.

user posted image

I suppose the solution is to get rid of the stars and find a food stand instead of entering a food establishment, which is exactly what I did on my last non-stop Vig run, but ended up getting caught in some trees and destroying the Hunter at level 289 cry.gif

******************************

2. Driving around LV airport (total of 7 planes which respawn, no cops disturbing + additional police helis)

You can do this in a Rhino tank using the cannon AND if you have enough stars for Police Helis to be after you, you can destroy *them* with the cannon as well.

My method was to destroy the aircraft, drive north/south to get them to respawn and repeat. When police helis show up and bug you enough, position the Rhino so that the heli is DIRECTLY behind you. Look backwards so the cannon rotates around and aims at the heli, WHILE still driving forward. Continue to drive forward and look backward so the cannon aims and the heli and blast away hoping one of your shots catches it. It does work, but can be tedious.

******************************

The newest method I have been using is this: I found a good spot where I can get six stars and can continiously destroy the police helis that spawn without having to worry about the pesky tanks, barracks, soldiers and cops showing up.

That spot is east of the Doherty save and Cranberry Station waaaay up underneath the highway. It is just northwest of the armor that spawns at the northwest corner of the Shady Industries building. Look for a little 'cranny' where a homeless person might live under the bridge biggrin.gif You should be able to easily overlook the Shady Industries parking lot when you find it.

If you stay up in the cranny back far enough or even down the angled ramp toward/in the grass, cops will not spawn on the road to the east. They will spawn on the highway above you, but that is of no concern. (if you like, you can use Remote Explosives at the very top of the angled part under the highway to destroy vehicles and kill anyone on the highway)

Hopefully in a short amount of time you can get enough stars for helis to spawn and then you are your way:

I currently have a 425,210 CR and most of that above 200,000 is from heli destruction. If you have full Fat and Muscle when you start, you can last for approximately 7 days (game time, of course..nearly 3 hours real time) before you will be dangerously hungry. The armor respawns (I believe) every 6 minutes. My current "Longest Chase Time with 5 Stars" is 188:33. Grab a car from Wang Autos (watch for cops inside if you are low on armor/health) and use the nearby Pay-n-Spray when you are ready to quit and save.

I use the Minigun *exclusively* because it is simplest to aim and can destroy a chopper in seconds. Hold R1 and fire using L1, NOT O. This way you can use both L3 and R3 sticks to manuever and aim. If you use O, you cannot easily use R3 stick to aim. You will be damn near permentanly holding R1. It can be a bear once they start using the spotlight on you (19:00 - 6:00, IIRC), but it isn't too bad. The sniper method works if you prefer that (zoom in to the cockpit to turn off the spotlight and snipe just under the rotor). Also, it helps to have a couple thousand rounds or 100% so you won't run out of ammo.

A guide for using this method has been brewing in my mind for some time, but I haven't had time to start it and I was not sure if there would be a lot of interest. (yea, nay??) I have more tips for doing this.

You don't want this happening (unless you have Molotovs):

Anyway, that's my CR idea for ya smile.gif

Some early stats when I first tried this (I think these are somewhat accurate, taken over about a 6 day [game time] period):

2500+ CR per day

10000+ Bullets Fired day

85+ Helicopters Destroyed per day

240+ Fires Started per day

Iv gotten 4000 points but doing this in about 14 mins. First go to the Abandon Airstrip and find the Sea Sparow seating in the ocean just off of the airstrip go back to the airstrip and shoot the planes till you get a 3 star wanted level just enough so you can have Helis coming at you. shoot every one that comes down. I found the best place to do this is at the Dam the cops drive around on the dam and you can shoot them while waiting for more Helis to show up.

If you got 4,000 CR points in 14 minutes then that is not quite as good as my method, but a good method regardless and it may be easier. Will be trying it smile.gif

Yours:

4,000 CR in 14 minutes = 286 CR/minute = 9.5 Helis Destroyed/minute

Mine:

10,000 CR in 24 minutes = 417 CR/minute = 13.9 Helis Destroyed/minute

If my calculations are right and those numbers seem plausible IIRC.

How long can you last in the Sparrow before it's on fire?? Days??? Is it easy to go get another?

A while, and if you see a bit of smoke showing just head back to were you found it and just wait till it sets fire then bail out and get in the other one. The good side is your wanted star barly rises, and when you get 4 stars it seems it wont go anyhigher.

I drove around LV irport a little and got 6000 CR in 24 hours (yeah, I drove a Rhino).

@Win98Crash

I don't find your way FAST in any way. I stand under bridge and the helis appear but not more than ussual - just as good I could shoot down helis with Rhino in LV airport.

Maybe I'm missing something notify.gif

P.S. I prefer heading straight against police helis with my Rhino and then shooting in last second cool.gif A little duel between good and evil devil.gif

Regarding stocking up on fat-- its not neccessary-- you will lose fat and muscle and eventually lose health-- if you have 0 fat and 0 muscle-- it doesn't matter-- it takes the same number of days (in the game) before you start losing health-- I checked this specifically.

The timer for "having to eat" resets with either saving (can't do while on vigilante) or by eating (any type of food).... is best to memorize a few places where you can eat outside-- a street vendor or snack machine if on vigilante-- best to clear your stars before stopping to eat so be sure to know where you can grab some bribes from the air too.

Ive just completed 100% and this seems to be the most entertaining thing to do, I first tried blowing up the planes at the LV airport with a Rhino and it took 40 minutes to get 10k points. Is it faster with the apache?

I think the main thing that increases your criminal rating while doing the vigilante mission is the money that you accumulate. It takes quite a while to get to the level where your money goes up enough to really affect your criminal rating. Once you get up there its childs play (unless you turn your head for a second and crash in the water and cant find a cop car angry.gif ). The best way to keep fed is remember where the hotdog stands are because going inside to eat is too risky (hunters like to disappear). I think tomorrow I'm going to try and max out my money and criminal rating. Im at Boss-hawg right now.

Ill max my money tomorrow at the horse races, for now I have about 460 mil and 120k criminal rating, so Ill get to about 220-230k criminal rating tomorrow and from there I guess Ill just have to do the LV Airport trick for about a month.

I got max money and it didn't give me 200,000 points notify.gif !! but it sure gave me alot of points trying to make it to max money.

I started with about 210 million from gambling alot and I played vigilante till lvl 340 or so and I was at 300,000 points... but I never got the additional 200,000 for maxing it out.

To get money just save the game and then go to a betting house or to a casino and bet all the money that you have to see if you got lucky you will have loads of money and your criminal rating will increase much faster.

$5000 = 1 Point

Killing a civilian = 1 Point

Completing a mission = 5 Points

Blowing up a vehicle = 5 Points

Blowing up a helicopter or plane = 30 Points

Getting Busted/Wasted = -3 Points

Using a cheat = -10 Points

I just tested this out...you can exploit "Air Raid" to boost your CR without cheating. You don't have to use cheats. You apparently get 30 points per RC Baron you take out. So you can continually do the mission, fail on purpose (turn the minigun on Zero to kill him if time is running out and your transmitters are still up) and blast as many planes as you can to raise your ranking.

Another thing you can do is exploit one of the missions with frozen wanted levels to blow up aircraft at airports without getting stars. The San Fierro and Las Venturas airports have heat-seeking RPG and rocket launcher pickups on their premises (respectively) and are handy for doing this.

For more information on exploiting frozen wanted levels in missions, see pdescobar's topic on the subject.

I believe yes if what remains in your 5% are missions, but no if they're just some other stuffs to be done to get 100%. Someone should confirm this. The increment is very minimal though for missions, just a mere 5 points for every mission passed.

Criminal rating is not solely based on missions or side missions. It's basically the violations or crimes, hence "criminal", that you commit within missions or in freeroam. And every nature of your violation/crime has a corresponding number of points. I'm just wondering why winning a lot of money betting would raise one's CR.

In anycase, if you want to boost your CR, your best bet would still be to blow up aircrafts or win big amount of money more easily in the ITB.
