D-pad Right (not targeting): Switch Weapons (Forward)

D-pad Up: Look Behind

D-pad Down: Crouch

Start: Main Menu

Select: Change Camera View

IN VEHICLE:

Analog Stick: Move Vehicle

Triangle: Exit Vehicle

Circle: Fire Weapon

Square: Brake/Reverse

X: Accelerate

L: Look Left

R: Look Right

L+R: Look Behind

D-pad Left: Activate Sub Mission (when available)

just wanted to add to that what about the hand brake.

I know a lot of people don't use it but I do and its always nice just to have , but otherwise really good

I couldn't really think of a logical place to put the handbrake and still be able to look left and right.

it would be hard to do a drive by with those controls

I dont think so, i know when i do a driveby i usually go straight so i wont really need to steer, but even if i did then it still wouldnt be that hard to do a driveby.

  • 2 weeks later...

I would like to see what Rockstar did for it's Xbox:DP as far as controls, in regards to a 1st person look view that remains in that view unless you push another button/control stick.

It's too bad..just for nostalgic reasons, they could have multiple on-foot setups for the SA versions. (so if you liked the original GTA3/VC on-foot controls, you can change back)

Something like:

On Foot:

X = Run/Sprint

Circle = Shoot/Punch (Weapon)

Triangle = Enter Vehicle (While aiming, you can punch people with it when you have your fists, like in GTA: San Andreas)

Square = Jump (While Aiming, you can block people, punches & melee weapon attacks when you have your fists, like in GTA: San Andreas)

Analog Stick = Move

R = Aim

L = Put the camera behind you or Crouch

Left = Reply Negatively (Change target to the left while aiming)

Right = Reply Positively (Change target to the right while aiming)

Up = Change weapon to the left

Down = Change weapon to the right

In Car/Motorcycle:

X = Drive

Circle = Shoot (Shoot while holding "L" or "R")

Triangle = Leave Vehicle/Bail out of vehicle when driving fast

Square = Brake

Analog Stick = Move

R = Drive-By to the right (shoot with "Circle" while holding "R") or Handbrake

L = Drive-By to the left (shoot with "Circle" while holding "L") or Put camera behind you or Change radio station

Left = Drive-By to the left (shoot with "Circle" while holding "Left")

Right = Drive-By to the right (shoot with "Circle" while holding "Right")

Up = Change Radio Station

Down = Change Radio Station

ReadMeMyMirandas

Just have the Vice City controls except have L and R be like L1 and R1, D Pad Left and D Pad Right be like L2 and R2, and D Pad Up and D Pad Down be like L3 and R3, all respectively.

Except it would be rather difficult to look behind with that, maybe D Pad Down in vehicle could be R3/ Look Behind?
