When the website is slow, you know a server is down.

Everytime something goes wrong they all flood to the site looking for answers.

Boars from RFD and RFK ftw. Boars make better tanks than bears too. I think they have a faster chase spd as well. My Dwarf has Takk the Leaper, from the northeastern Barrens, lvl 19 Elite, tamed him at 19. Bit of a mistake, now he lvls real slow and talents take ages to get. Cats are what you want for PvP though. Stealth + stay = win, moreso if you're an Elf - goddamned purple ninnies.

haha never, bears are the best tanks, specially my bear, 2.4 attack speed.

EDIT: Also, wasn't all pet attack speeds leveled out? I.e. all Bears have the same value, all cats, etc. Or was it chase speeds? ~az

chase speed was, all pets are the same now.

 

my bear is though, the animal with the highest attack speed in the game.

 

same as my bat is the one with the lowest.

 

higher attack speed = more burst damage = more aggro held.

all you need is a frost trap and you can tame pretty much anything.

 

to rivax:

 

you drop frost trap and start taming. the trap gives you a good 5-6 seconds of taming. when he gets unfrozen and getst close to you the tamings practically over and he did little or no damage.

So he wouldn't kill you before you tamed him.

Someone to hold his aggro.

 

Edit: I've never had I hunter so I didn't know, but what level is the frost trap? I also assume you can tame a beast even though it's frozen?

nope, NO ONE can do anything or else taming will be broken...a priest healing me, anyone hitting the beast will break the tame.

 

frost trap is gotten at lvl 20 i believe.

 

also at my level beasts don't even get out of the 20 sec trap before they're tamed.

Even a taunt from a warrior would break it? Interesting.

Anyway, if the frost trap is at level 20, I would imagine it'd be difficult to tame a level 19 elite (assuming you were 19 also) and have success.

Because someone said he hits too fast and too hard to keep the tame going. Guess not. Or maybe they weren't using frost trap.

 

@Rivax - Taunt's meant to break all aggro in it's radius and direct it at the warrior. I think. And I was pretty close to dead when I was done taming Takk. But he's an awesome pet. I went to Ratchet, put him in a stable and went and got the Rake too, but he sucks. Looked around for Echeyakee for a while, but decided I didn't want him anyway.

I got to level 50 on my druid yesterday. Then we raided UC. We help it for like a half hour untill horde came in the masses.

Ahh, ok. Thanks for explaining. Like I said, I've never tried a hunter.

 

In other news, Hakkar got womped on again tonight. Dropped some kickass caster sword, then the 2h (Zanarkhan, Destroyer of Worlds...something like that), and some eye that starts a quest. I didn't get to roll as we were doing free-roll and I had already won the tanking blade off the Bloodlord.

Or, as I did when I got most of my pets, just duke it out, and in all honesty, I let Broken Tooth have his way with me, and he still lost out without doing anything special.

Conversation in Smolderthorn (around the Goldshire area) consisted of a multitude of complainers, some horde alts ragging on Alliance, and rumours of Blizzard GM's denying there was any issue with the servers. This extended into rumours of server wipes, patch rollbacks and the like... not an overly promising thing.

 

In other news, I'm still rolling my mid-20's Hunter on Shadow Council, but I'm also rolling a Warrior (uber low lvl right now) on Smolderthorn for pure PVP purposes. Me and a lvl 6 Paladin were getting raged by Kobolds in the Elwynn mines; I'm tempted to just grind above ground before popping back underground to take out the kobolds.

I'm actually thinking of trying a hunter now, as all my warrior does is MC/Ony/ZG. I've just recently respecced to a tank for my guild, so my pvp is sh*t now. All that to say I'm looking for a better pvp class.

I have my mage to 18 (fire mage so far… I hear that’s better for pvp), but I'm thinking of trying a hunter anyway.

Yeah, Challenging Shout is the only aoe taunt. It has a ten minute cool down, though.
