Hellow overseas brothers of gta. Im read about your work, and im have a few questions. If this questions already to demand, sorry, im bead speak english, and im can't read the all forum! dozingoff.gif

 

1. You multipleer is a programm (like mta), or script-file (main)?

2. If you multipleer is a programm, what user interface like?

3. What mechanism of synchronization to use your multipleer?

4. What it in contrast to MTA?

5. Why don't you join hands with command of MTA?

They don't join because kyeman already worked with MTA, and he did not like some of the things he did, so he made this mod smile.gif.

Here is a quote from kyeman back in the old forums, just so you know.

 

 

I left the MTA team late 2004, mainly because I disagreed with the direction they were taking the mod, yes. At the time of leaving I was responsible for a very large amount of code in the MTA version they call "MTA:Blue."

 

There's no hard feelings there though, I still chat with some of them from time to time.

 

Obviously having my own team gives me the ability to write a multiplayer mod the way I want to write it, and concentrate more on the stuff I think is important and less on the stuff I don't think is important.

 

I was still playing around with Vice City even while not on the MTA team, and I made some discoveries about GTA that convinced me there was a very simple solution to writing a multiplayer mod. This code is the basis of SA-MP.

The multiplayer is a bit like a "plug-in" for the game. So yes, it's an executable really. It's not possible to make one using an SCM script, the SCM is nowhere near capable.

The interface is all in-game, but a user-friendly interface is one of the things still being worked on/still left to do. Can't really answer that yet.

 

3. What mechanism of synchronization to use your multipleer?
Memory editing, Calling the game's functions and using SCM Opcodes. I guess that covers it.

 

4. What it in contrast to MTA?
Hopefully a bit better. smile.gif

 

5. Why don't you join hands with command of MTA?

One more quertion: What conection speed mast be. for normal gameplay?

i guess you would do okay with a 1mbit (1024/256)... but maybe im just talking out of my ass and you can run it on slower...

Broadband is recommened, but you can use it dial up.

Sync is still very good with a high ping. Although, yes, broadband is definately recommended.

There will still be lag there, that is unavoidable, but it is very smooth. This has been perfected with most of our tests being on kyeman's home connection in Australia, and the majority of us having a 300-400 ping.

Whether it's acceptable would have to be your own decision, when you come to play it tounge.gif

well as long as some animations (like other ppl walking/running)+ player position is still sync'd correctly when i'm playing on a server that's far away from my own country, i'm satisfied cool.gif and yeah can't wait to try it wink.gif

Ah... I remember the days of horrible sync from MTA, I once tried to do a driveby with a few buddies.....after the first ten seconds, they were 5 feet away from my car....

Some of the anims arent synced in MTA, its laggy, unstable, and alot of other things such as Drive-bys and things like hunter rockets/miniguns arent synced. Its a large list, really.

I'm going to try and make sense of your crazy post.

 

You can play over ethernet router.

It doesn't have to be online, you can play on LAN.

Why would you need to search? Goto start - run and type:

 

cmd /k ipconfig

 

To get your IPs.

 

You can't try it yet, it's not going to be released for another 1-2 months.

Is there a driveby sync in vc mp ? I remember the really horrible sync in mta. Good thing you left the mta , they fool thing theit the best. And they are saying how grat the mta blue is. And it isnt out yet. I hope you will have much luck guiding your team.

will there be an option enable/disable peds, or even allow a given ammount of peds?

 

i ask that because if i am going to play on a lan, there is ony one other computer on the lan, and two people in sanandreas without peds would be kinds silly happy.gif

If that were the case and it did have peds in that would be stupid. Because the peds won't be in the exact same location on 2 different computers running VC. That would bring up weird cases for example:

 

On one computer you see a big truck, you go stand on top of it. But on another person's computer they see you floating in the air.

im saying for a small amount of players, small amount of peds should be allowed to spawn in a given radius relative to each player/players...perhaps.....perhaps even an option to set ped ammount, say 0-25

 

asking for peds, i thought it was a given that i am reffering to synchronyzed(sp?) peds tounge.gif
