3D studio max SA DFF import / export script topic

How do these maxscripts actually work? tounge.gif

 

I'd really like to get my Camaro into SA.

 

I use 3ds max 5 and when I click "Run Script" and open your script file, nothing happens.

I tried googling about maxscripts but I found absolutely nothing useful.

 

I'm sorry about being a stupid noob but this is the first time when I try to use maxscripts. confused.gif

Hi, a have problem with my model in san andreas. Has too big wheels confused.gif and bug in windows (door_**, windscreen..)

 

For big wheel problem, try select the wheel and use 'Reset XForm' in utility panel.

 

For the missing parts problem, see the last few post in this topic. It seems to be un-answerd question. But it might still help.

do only gta 3 viehicles work in sa ? cuz i bin tryint to get a vc vehicle into sa but my game keeps crashing or if i try the garage way the car is invisible but my gta is sorta f*cked up :S

can someone give me an exact explanation ? i tried different things like adding the sa chrom texture from the vehicles.txd in 3ds as a reflection map..

or adding my own ref. map in that TXD and much more..

When I exported my tank model with this script, some polygons dissapeared and collapsed. I didn't have this problem when I exported my model into dff via zmodeler... anyone has any idea why this happens?

max 5 reporting in it was me doign something stupdi everybody i didn't run the sadffin and sadff out _fn files once i did that boom baby it was soo money.

 

so long story short i been working with exporting to get an idea of what i need for it using the sa models i think i have a pretty good idea of things in genral so now the great convertion of my as yet unreleased road warrior mad max models can begin can't promise frantastical textures to boogle the mind but will do my best. thanks kam you driven our mod forward now it's our turn. and turn we will we willl muahahahahahahahha.

Alright, well I used Delfi's Col Editor to make my new .col file. I exported the .dff, added them both to the game, and then started her up. I've been able to find the .col file, but still there is no .dff showing up. Could it possibly be the TXD?

But how to obtain for the textures of the car that i convert of GTA VC for GTA SA?

I am using zmodeler 1.7b to make the conversions.

I tried to change to the textures with txd workshop 3.4 and game is crashs!

The first time it was big wheels, but I re-scale in zmod monocle.gif

I've gotten the latest script, added all missing parts, got the COLL3 off of the Buffalo, exported, and it still wont show up. Plus, when I tried the stinger done by Kam, it didnt show up either turn.gif

You should upgrade and try again, you may have happy results. TXD 3.4 was a beta for SA andDelfi has released 3.5.

Well I noticed with the dl you had the default vehicles.txd in it. It doesn't work with freshly imported cars though, you have to use the one that came with the car. SA should recognize it.

 

Well I figured out why there wasn't paintable and fixed that, but now I've run into other problems.

 

1. The reset XForm idea doesn't seem to work on my wheels - they're still huge.

 

2. A wheels missing and... well... this

They move in circles with the motion of the actual wheels and they don't show up in 3ds.

Any ideas?

Oh, sorry I think my previous post might have mixed our problems up. I couldn't get yours to work because I really don't know how to assign textures in Zmod or 3ds. I was just thinking you might have another TXD that you disgarded initially thinking it wouldn't work because of SA's vehicles.txd. Thats what I did at first when I started trying to replace cars in SA, then I realized the TXD the car came with still works when converted.

 

The car in the picture is a different one. Its the one I was asking the questions about.

 

Again, sorry to confuse you.

 

I replaced the stallion with the Cuda though.

Weird about your car :s Parhaps you could replace another car and see what happens.

 

And about mine, did it work ingame at all?

Well I couldn't get it to, I'll try it some more and see if I have any luck. But if some of these guys haven't then its probably beyond my abilities. It'll all come out in the wash though bud so don't give up.

 

And as far as trying another car, this is my second. My first worked pretty flawlessly except for the wheel size. I have what I did with it in a thread in the vehicles section if you want to check it out. I don't think theres an answer to your problem there, but its worht a look I guess.

Well it took a little while, but I redownloaded it from the link in the showroom and got the Thunder Mustang in game. It turns out it didn't take any real editing or anything. All I had to do was convert the texture to SA. The other thing you need to do is use a dff from SA for the col file.

 

The only strange thing is that it used the vehicleenvmap128 out of the vehicle.txd for the whole cars reflection!

Other than that, you do it just like any of the other SA conversion.

I don't know if i'm being a noob or anything but when are these going to be released? they look so good...... cryani.gif ......and if theres a simple way of installing them like replacing dff's and txd's rather than all the converting work

but dam i cant get any to work out of vice city sad.gifsad.gif

i import to 3ds max then export i choose the vc car as col file

then i open the texture as re save as san andreas format and then delete both files out of img tool

then add the new ones and then start my game when i try spawning em they dotn work the game crashes or they are invisable

i'm having a little problem with the exporter.. when i export my whole bike looks matte.. but if you wait till night time then you can see all the deatail as long as lights are shining on it.. user posted image

but also there are no textures or color is there a trick to getting them to show up? also if you need more feedback let me know

I found that the coronastar out of your particle.txd was a better reflection. SA tends to show them more intensely so a little bit goes a long way.

 

On the texture problem. When you export there are 4 buttons MMC UV NOR and VCOL. Select them all when you export. Also make sure you converted the textures to SA with txd workshop (the dropdown menu at the bottom right of the window)

@demonj0e I had that problem too, hit ctrl a to select all before you export, if you don't it will crash. Also I don't know if you can use a VC dff as a col. You might can but if it still doesn't work use an SA dff.

Remember it's a beta written by a silly guy(me) without SA! tounge.gif

 

Try my second beta released today, Hopefully those reflection stuff should work fine!
