aad
its stored in the handling or default ide you can find it if you look at the indexes on top are letters that stand for something like it starts with A for carname and for example H for the wheel size. JGEM
for San Andreas they changed to file to vehicles.ide - there are 2 values towards the end of each line, the first value is for the front wheels and the second is for the back wheels - for example my picador has wicked big back wheels and smaller front wheels, also you can fix the crappy remington problem of seeing the back wheels through the body work when you mod the car - i hope this helps Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/199627-wheel-scale/#findComment-2939760 Share on other sites
L0UNG3R
560, sultan, sultan, car, SULTAN, SULTAN, null, richfamily, 7, 0, 0, -1, 0.7, 0.7, 1 You mean these? When I change these, my car starts fly, so those values are the car's hight measured from the ground. L0UNG3R
nah, it wasnt really messed up, just a little The wheels became sort of bigger, but invisible, so my car was floating. L0UNG3R
meh i think it makes them "invisible big" so the wheels actually touch the road, but the visual models haven't changed Since San Andreas, every car has it's own Wheel Model in the DFF, so maybe that's the problem. JGEM
Changing the wheel numbers in the vehicles.ide file i believe only applies to wheels that are placed on the car (i.e. from one of the mod shops, transfender etc). Thus if you change the value in the ide file the original wheel on the car "should not" change. Ive only seen one example where this is not the case and that is the picador where my back wheels are bigger than the front even on the stock rims (not from a mod shop). I always believe that big wheels are not always the auto best choice anyhow, its always a balance between lowering the suspension on the cars and making the wheels big, but not so big that they start to "clip" the wheel archs - my personal gripe. Admittedly this takes alot of trial and error but its worth it. In the example of the Sultan which you used, please see the picture of mine, i lowered the suspension on the stock model but when you put hydralics and custom rims on it lowers the car more and puts bigger rims on it, i think it looks pretty cool, see for yourself NB:- ive modded my carmods.dat to allow hydralics on all vehicles, also this technique is the second best technique. Obviosuly the best technique is to create a custom vehicle from scratch in Zmodeller and create it with huge rims and low profile tires, which is what i think has happened in that custom car you showed earlier. Either that or they changed the generic wheel.dff and created their own set of custom rims or indeed added a new rim with its own .dd and .txd files to the mod shop list - both are possible i believe. I hope this comes as some help. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE SOME ONE HELP US PUT OUR VICE CITY CUSTOM CARS IN SAN ANDREAS - i miss my H2, Gallardo, Enzo, corvette, camarro etc Edited July 3, 2005 by JGEM Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/199627-wheel-scale/#findComment-2944008 Share on other sites
ETHER45
NB:- ive modded my carmods.dat to allow hydralics on all vehicle how do you do this? thanks alot i changed my wheel size on the two door lowrider, bullet, or somthing like that, and it worked i changed the value from .7 to .9 and the look like 24 inch rims, and they all will be that big when i change rims in the modshop, try not to go up whole # values from .7 to 1.0 try to go .7 to .9 or .799 or so fourth , 1.0 maybe to big? JGEM
To allow hydralics on any vehicle go to the carmods.dat file then put the folliwn in like mine: linerun, nto_b_tw firetruk, nto_b_tw trash, nto_b_tw pony, nto_b_tw mule, nto_b_tw ambulan, nto_b_tw mrwhoop, nto_b_tw bfinject, nto_b_tw so you can guess the pattern, just add the "nto_b_tw" to the end of the line for your chosen vehicle. If your vehicle doesnt exist add it like ive done above e.g. for the linerunner Then you can mod any vehicle with hydralics, even the baggage also you can add 10x nitros to all of them WOOHOO Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/199627-wheel-scale/#findComment-2944209 Share on other sites

JGEM
If your feeling lazy just copy mine above Also the paint job you saw on my sultan is a custom one, i added, i didnt design it. You can add multiple paint jobs through the IMGtool, so cool only to a max of 4 though Hope this helps Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/199627-wheel-scale/#findComment-2944220 Share on other sites
L0UNG3R
Well I allready had a mod that allowed everything in Transfender. Anyways, how do I add custom body-paintings? Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/199627-wheel-scale/#findComment-2944305 Share on other sites
JGEM
simply open the gta3.img file with imgtool then place the desired .txd file in there, for example if you want a forth paint job for the savanna or sultan you put the folling .txds in SAVANNA4.txd or SULTAN4.txd - you shouldnt overwrite anything as there shouldnt be anything there - i forgot to say to edit suspension heights you'll find them in the file handling.cfg - or get an editor to change them if you find any note on adding whole new custom cars to San Andreas let me know, im gagging to put my Ferrari's back in Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/199627-wheel-scale/#findComment-2944321 Share on other sites

754boy
ok it worked....the car was floating with the stock rims but when I changed them at Transfender, the big new rims were there. Thanks for the help Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/199627-wheel-scale/#findComment-2945356 Share on other sites
JGEM
No problems, remember there are two values so you can have bigger rear wheels than the front, on my remington for example you can now have custom rims without the awful clipping that used to happen when adding certain types of wheels, esp the CUTTER rim It was so lazy of rockstar to leave that glitch in - at least we can fix it though Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/199627-wheel-scale/#findComment-2946446 Share on other sites

BenMillard
i know how to change the wheel size like height but is there a simple way to change width for the moster truck so when you make a wheel bigger it wont become so skinny?thanks alot i want some wide rear wheels on some of my drag set up cars Handling flags in handling.cfg can change the wheel widths. My gtasa handling definition should let you see what things do what. FlagStudio can help to calculate the actual flag data you need to type in. JGEM
sorry off roader, my bad, i did download the transfender mod and i was lazy about not giving you credit for it, trust me it was not don intentionally. For everyone else, the final transfender mod that was created was AMAZING, put new spoilers on cars that couldnt previously carry them - very impressive stuff Once again sorry for the slip up off roader Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/199627-wheel-scale/#findComment-2983068 Share on other sites
