TheElf
In my experience it is easy to win this mission, if you do it right. in the begining you should use the plane like you would use a helicopter, but fly low and close to the bridge. If you do it right the planes that go after you will just plumet to ground, no need to waste any missile on them. The rest of the mission is easy,

Chunky Lee Chong
Oh my, this happened to me when I had no idea how to use the Hydra, so instead I flew it like a helicopter with immense difficulty and hovered under the bridge, and apparently the other Hydra's must've flown straight into the bridge, lol. But, yes, the mission is fairly easy.
MartyVice30
i thought the only way you could fly it was like a helicopter how else can u fly it like a fighter jet??!!!
Chunky Lee Chong
i thought the only way you could fly it was like a helicopter how else can u fly it like a fighter jet??!!! If you have PS2, tilt the right analog stick forwards until the thrusters are facing backwards. On the X-Box and PC, I have no idea what to tell you to press. JUST PRESS ALL THE BUTTONS. Beretta
on PC its numpad 2 and numpad 8 to switch between modes. Maybe you have to hold them, I don't know.
Chunky Lee Chong
Yes, you do have to hold them. If you don't know which one of the two you need to press, then look at the Hydra from the side and hold one of the buttons. If the thrusters move and point towards the back, you've pressed the right button.
Colhad
heh, I did it the hard way. Took many goes at it, but when I did eventually pass the mission, it took ages. I shot the planes and the patrol boats with the homers. The mission for me really was learning to fly the damn thing, took me a while to get the hang of it. Crashed a few times, as I did with all the flight missions. Colhad
Timpo
you can also destroy them while they are still on the aircraft carrier. just take one of the hydra jets and destroy the other 2. there will be only 1 hydra after you. this is from the official strategy guide. mikeswi
I like the dogfight. That's the most fun I had in the whole game Of course I cheated, sort of. After failing the mission 4 times, I cheatspawned a Hydra and played around with it for a while before canceling and going back to the mission. The-Joker
Seems like there are lots of ways to do this one with ease. Personally I never went out of "hover" mode so when they came after me I stayed over the water and targeted them as they came closer while moving around sideways a bit. Then I did the same with the boats to avoid doing multiple fly-overs as I think I might have needed if I was in "forward thrust" mode. When all targets where out of the way I changed mode and speeded of to the airport.
Jigsaw
i thought the only way you could fly it was like a helicopter how else can u fly it like a fighter jet??!!! I recommend to actually read the messages that show up in the upper left screencorner. They actually tell you how to use things like this.
srg
This is just a theory: if you quickly run up the stairs to the upper level after the alarm is triggered, you'd find a quickly taking off hydra which I presume would be the one that you'd engage in a dogfight. Maybe if you use stealth, you might be able to destroy all Hydras and wouldn't 've to worry about anything.
blue_steel
Dont want to sound like im bragging but I flew it first time easy. I just flew it like i did on my mates PS2. And I like doing the dogfights in the air, gives the mission more excitment. So everytime I have the Hydra I fly it over Area 69 or the Naval Base and I shoot down other Hydras. Fun stuff. srg
Yeah right, fun stuff indeed. Kind of disorienting up there but your adrenaline's all the way up. Does anybody experienced vanishing cars in the Paradiso garage tho? It happened to me a lot of times eventho my garage only had two cars.
blue_steel
No. But Some of the paint jobs I put on cars from Wheels Arch Angel do. Example: A give them a paint job, put it in a garage, then later when I go to ge tthe car it has a white paint job. What the hell?
