For the possible two people who don't know who Darkel was, he was a hobo-terrorist who was removed for one reason or another (some say 9/11 was the reason, others say he was cut for size or time reasons.) The one thing I've never seen is a webmaster of a GTA fan site (such as GTAGaming or the webmasters of the GTA Network) email Rockstar about Darkel. It might have been done in the past, and if so, does anyone what the response might have been? If it hasn't been done before, do you think it should be done? It's been nearly four years and Darkel is still a mystery to us all... as is to my knowledge. Oh, and I read that topic by georgehenry, where he thought there was a new version of GTA3 coming out. Obviously those pics were from the beta version, but I do believe those shots came from when GTA3 was still slated for the Dreamcast. I think I remember something on Gouranga.com that said that GTA3 was originally made for the Dreamcast, but due to the plug being pulled on that system, Rockstar ported it to the PS2. I also remember a bit of news about Rockstar firing up the Manhunt project just before GTA3 was released, which would explain why they mentioned Carcer City on the Lips station. Maybe they could shed some light on it, because I've always wondered about them. It's been a while since GTA3 was realised, so maybe they will spill the beans, and maybe even give a way to re-obtain the missions. So, could an admin possible do this, I mean, what could it hurt? Making you think that Manhunt took place before GTA 3. And for those of you who hated Manhunt, I bet at least sixty percent of you haven't played all the way through it. Vengence Posted July 8, 2005 Share Posted July 8, 2005 Yeah, Darkel's textures are still in the game which ultimately allows him to be the game, you just take the .dff file and transfer it with a tramps dff and then do the same with the texture. Another thing is the person who would've voiced him was still credited in the credits. People asked me what I liked best about the GTA series and I said it was the Easter Eggs and secrets. He was fired because of that. Not true, he was removed becuase Rockstar felt that after 9/11, The missions that he gave were not approrite for the game. He was supposed to give rampage-esque missions such as I scream, You scream. (which was now given to El Burro) They also wanted to make it harder for you by using the signs.
