I wont ever be buying or playing another Rockstar game . State of emergency is actually #5 on my 'Worst Games of all Time'. And they have several other crappy titles to boot. Many of which I wasted my hard earned money on . I have played this title for several weeks, and it just seems to grate on my nerves, much like your penis in a meat grinder. The problem with GTA is that it hasn't progressed since GTA3 . I'll admit Rockstar has a good sense of humor, much of which has kept me playing their games, but that only goes so far, and the funny stuff has run out of gas for me. They have implemented a few new features, but they are either buggy, thoughtless, I'll concieved, or just dont deliver what is supposed to be 'new' content. Leaving you with a feeling that you just bought the same game twice, only this one has a different CD cover. The missions are still retarded the controls are very retarded the physics are very, very retarded . The storyline seems to dead-end multiple times, takes a completely different direction without closure of what the last five missions had ANYTHING to do with. Cars bounce and rollover like the tires are made of 'superball' material I had people die on missions before I got anywhere near them, and I get 'mission failed' I would think after 37 games a developer would get it right And with the word 'auto' in the title you would think that some premium controls for the cars would be built in. No way. This turd was built for the GheyStation Even the controls they do include suck. There is absolutely no joystick sensitivity. Did I mention the game is FULL of 'bugs, bugs, bugs' My random crashes were totally due to the radio. I was having random crashes every 5 - 15 min. Once I disabled the radio, I haven't had a crash in over a week. Oooo, cool feature, wish I could use it. Performance sucks too, here are my benchmarks on a system with double Minimum CPU, %25 more than recommended RAM, and the recommended level of video card. It isn't like they kept sh*t the same from a N64 to say a PS3. They didn't remake a whole new game engine for these. They are all the same type of game. They weren't going to redo the whole design of the game, when these three GTA's were all connected to each other. Sorta like Star Wars, you know, a trilogy. They didn't want to mix them up too much. If you read my post crefully I said GTA hasnt progressed since GTA3! If a game developer is regurgitating the same stuff without fixing, or improving anything, all the while pumping the TV AD's like it's Gods gift to games, I call that No progress. Before you say the sky is falling get help in the troubleshooting forum or upgrade your computer. Much of your arguement is based on your opinion, and the fact that you are constantly refering to the games features as retarded doesn't help us. You are wanting us to address the problems when it seems all you are really doing is giving us is your opinion. How can we address an issue that we don't really see as an issue. I like some of the stuff that you don't. I respect your opinion, but that doesn't mean I have to agree with it, so stop being so condescending to us just because you don't realize what goes into a game like this. If your tired of the game then don't play it, but don't try to tell a forum of nearly 77,000 members that we shouldn't either. One thing you aren't going to find in many other games is a group that actually listens to there fan base. Dude the tools to make mods aren't out yet, if you had really looked you would have found the threads that explained that. And I do agree that there are some things in the game that annoy me and should be fixed, but most of what he mentioned was purely opinion, I would not defend the game in situation where some peoples computer exploded to put it broadly, but thats not happening. He's critiquing things that some people like an saying that they are bad. I don't agree with that approach. As for Rockstar´s deal with Sony , I can only agree. It sucks they were tied to that pos console for 3 titles worth. But meh, money makes the world go around right ? Want my advice ? Stop using money on the pos console and use it on upgrading your pc, had you done so , you would not have been in this mess in the first place. Just so you know I'm not a mindless fan, I agree with your sony comment as I have never liked Sony and they are the reason we don't have a built in Multiplayer. The above poster is right. It makes sense that it hasn't progressed since the PS2 version which is prolly why you're bored with it after a few weeks. Even then graphically it has progressed. Not true (if you want to pretend to be a real gamer) minimum: The minimum requirements, meaning, you will get the minimum accetable performance with this hardware. Recommended: What the manufacturer says you should have if you want good performance. Most games with actually run on much, much lower than the minimum requirements, but at 5 frames a sec, dont say they didnt warn you. I would guess a real gamer would know that. But heck I've only been playing video games for 25 years. As far as '512 is a ridiculously low amount of ram' Read the ReadMe! 256 Minimum 384 Recommended I have %25 more than the recommended so dont bash half a gig of RAM. Alot more intense games coming out now only need half a gig. and if the game needs more, am I supposed to be psychic? Furthermore, yeah, alot of my post is opinionated. That doesn't make it untrue, and you dont have to bash people that might agree with my opinion. Lock this thread? Why? cause you dont agree? Yes played for several weeks, trying to get my moneys worth, and trying to give the game a fair chance. 2. never bought a junkole, *cough* meant 'console' -ever- -ever- 3. meaning the game is like GTA3, GTA VC, its like playing the same game over, and over. Another poster mentioned the 'new' things. yes some of them are cool but they dont outweigh the bad IMHO. Your opinions on the actual gameplay and all that is just that, your opinion so I can't counter that with anything. As far as the actual technical problems with the game well I can tell you that not everyone is having problems so its rather invalid for you to use that as your basings for the series to be at its end. The reason why that game hasn't really changed much is the system its on and its game engine which really didn't have much le-way in what you could do. Yes we are fairly sure they will make GTA4 based on Dan Houser talking about how great the PS3 will be for Rockstar and the possibilites in its games. Rockstar will try to expand on GTA once again, without really putting thought into good things that need to be improved upon. For example they will let you be able you drive a train or something, whatever, it will be a cool feature, but, they wont fix things like the worst control configuration you can imagine. What I'm trying to say is they will putt new cool features in but wont improve the stuff that leaves a bitter tast in your mouth. Dont get me wrong I like the games, god, I've ploayed 5 of them. but everytime I just keep telling myself, 'The next one will be better', gues what? I dont care how hard the game is, but it should be difficult because the controls are straight out of medival times. Duke Nukem had similar key mappings.
