boca jay
ok so i jump in a plane and take a smooth take off and start to elevate. I start to turn the plane around so i can head for los santos as I cross this desert looking place i see something hit and explode on the rear of my plane. I didnt know what it was until another one hit. so now im smokin pretty bad. I look in rear view and see another missle chasing me!!so i swerve away from it and was able to make it explode on a large platoue (or however u spell it). I start to accelerate and turn so that i can make an emergency landing in san fierro when another missle blows up my plane!!! anybody ever have this happen to them?? or know who the heck is shooting these things? fart boy
you flew the restricted space one missle and the other was over the army base.
DidierSucks
You passed over this area of the map: (Ignore the gun, it's a minigun location) It's the Restricted Area, or, Area 69. It's a military zone, so it's also a No-Fly zone. When you fly over it, they send out some SAMs (Surface to Air missiles) and/or Hydras to come and kick your ass. Then you flew over the Military Boat in San Fierro.... It also fires SAMs Edited June 24, 2005 by DidierSucks
Q27
That must've been freaky saying as you didn't know what it was!
NSX
You can avoid it from happening when you dive and turn like crazy when you hear the bleeping sounds
Cojawfee
Why didn't you just land at Las Venturas? It is closer. Though perpendicular to the way you would be traveling though.
oli_86
or if you fly a hydra you can fire countermeasures, or last resort, jump out of the plane and parachute. why landing a plane?
Kremit
evasive maneuvers work too... when you see the lil red indicator on your radar, try to pull up (if low) and do a roll at the same time. The shamal's, stunt planes, crop duster's, hydra's are all capable of making rolls. If you're rather high altitude and you see the red down arrows (indicating a missle below you), do a dive and a roll... then level out and bank. If you're still confused, watch "Behind Enemy Lines" or "The Incredibles" even... I uncovered the entire map with one shamal and evasive maneuvers while earning my pilot's license all before I started ryder's first mission where I get my haircut. oli_86
how did u get a shamal when u didnt have a pilot license to enter the airfield? and how did u earn a pilot license by flying around
Kremit
you go to the gate where the stoopid guard says his smart ass remark. Pop him in the head and then jump on the roof of the building (need a running start and pull yourself up once you grab the edge). Walla, now just drop down the backside of the guard booth and you're in. You can even go back and get your car at the gate if you want... just walk over to the gate (from inside the airport) and it'll open to let you out. It will also stay open as long as you're close enough. Get in the car and drive on in. You can jump the ramp infront of you, or go to the left and in... or even bust thru the chain fence next to the jump. Yes, you get pilot's license based on flying skill... and you build skill by practicing whatever it is you're skilling up. In this case, flying around will gradually increase your flying skill. It's quite funny tho, I had max flying skill by the time I bought the airstrip this time and after finishing the first test it said I obtained my license. I laughed. It kept saying my skill has been upgraded... I laughed again...
