Sage013
I've spent 5 days of tearing my hair out, banging my head against a wall and throwing things about just to get this game working. My problem, at a random amount of time within 10 minutes of starting the game, my PC would just switch off, no warning, just complete zero power. After this pressing the on button didn't even work. I had to remove thee power plug and discharge the capicitors in the power supply. Now, having looked at this board when I initialy started getting problems, I got so invloved with all the possible solutions people have kindly posted and completely forgot to approach things in a logical fashion. After finally giving up and vowing never to touch my PC again (well, for a day at least), followed by obtaining a large amount of alcohol, I decided I would sit down and drown my sorrows. About two cans in I realised how damn hot and uncomfortable the weather was and couldn't believe I hadn't noticed it really over the last week. Apparently here in London it's been hotter then Miami a lot of the time. That's when it hit me, how could I of been so stupid, my damn PC is over heating!! I quickly downloaded a freebie program for temperature testing and, on the first run, the case temperature (or whatever part it was checking and saying it's case temperature) hit 75C and bang, PC shutdown instantly with power going off. So, I whip of the case to see my two fans absolutely covered in crap. Add the high temperatures with this and, hey presto, one seriously unhappy PC. I'm now getting the vacuum cleaner out and embarking on a serious clean up session. I realise this probably won't help anyone else but, just in case I thought I'd let you know. With the problem I was experiencing, this should of been one of the first things I checked. As I said, someone please shoot me p.s. sorry for the long post, I got a bit carried away with my new found enthusiam Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/199275-please-shoot-me/ Share on other sites
Death-Speak
I wouldn't put a vac in my PC ever. They generate lots of static electricity. Take a few bucks and go to a local PC dealer or Wal-Mart and grab some compressed air-in-a-can. DarkKnight
Hmm...I also ALWAYS use the standard vac cleaner, no problem what so ever. And thats logical as you only use the end part in the pc and not the cleaner itself (i hope ) Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/199275-please-shoot-me/#findComment-2932041 Share on other sites
