qtiphead1
ok guys i know there are tons of save game threads; ive looked through almost all of them my problem is that when i installed it did not make a directory for saved games and when ever i try to save in game it says please check your save game directory cannot save. i think its because my comp has a partitioned harddrive and the part that i installed it on isnt the one that windows is on, because the one windows is on is barly big enough to hold windows. (dont ask i didnt do this it came like this) anyway i tried all the things except create a new username and i dont think thats even my problem cus my username is "Travis" and that has no periods or spaces and i have tried making the folder and putting some posted saved games into it but it wont recognize the files to load them and wont allow me to save in that directory. please help

qtiphead1
yeah but what can i do to fix it then
AngelRipper
That´s a strange problem cause gta_sa.set file is in same folder as savegames. Can you change display etc. settings in pausemenu? In that case you should have it somewhere. Use start-> find-> files and folders, if you haven´t already tried. If that really is not anywhere create folder GTA San Andreas User Files to your My documents folder, download a savegame, put it in that folder, and try again. AngelRipper
My advice is to uninstall the game, delete the GTA San Andreas folder in My documents. Install again (full install) and before you start playing, change some settings in pausemenu, quit game and check that GTA SA folder has been created in your My documents. Sorry, can´t help more. Maybe your 1st installation did not go as it have should?

AngelRipper
Gratulations Qtiphead you found a solution for your problem. I spend lot of time last night to go through registry but did not find anything useful in there. Can you tell what cd-crack you use?

ShellShock
It could be you had errors on your disk where it was trying to save; reinstalling may have used a different area of the disk so the problem went away. For anyone else with this problem I suggest you run chkdsk on the affected partition e.g., (chkdsk /F /R c:). You can also get to this through Explorer, Properties, Tools. Might as well defrag at the same time.
