crashed fixed w/compatibility mode.but Lshift does

I was crashing and getting bsod. Well, I enabled compatibilty by modifying the shortcut by right clicking and selecting it.

 

HOWEVER, my LSHIFT key does not work. It makes some missions very difficult to complete and takes away from the game.

 

Does someone know how to fix this?

if Lshift is not working then try Rctrl button. It is necessary in second level to climb fence use Rctrl

Corrodias' fix has solved this crash problem for me....read about it HERE.

 

Hope it helps.....you need the .net framework installed before you can install the application compatibility toolkit- get it from windows update...it is worth it believe me, playing this game uninterrupted by system lockups is just sublime!

On my old PC I had this problem on ALL GTA games - Shift just wouldn't work, which meant I couldn't run, and could use the horn in cars. So I got around it by moving all my key mappings one key to the right.

 

Of course, that's on a UK keyboard, where backslash is next to LShift - don't know how it would work on a US one...
