I mad all 5 laps in under 40 seconds (39.3) and it gives me a 66%!!! I hit no cones and never let up on the gas and after 5 hours on constantly doing it that is the best time, heck thats under 8 seconds a lap. What time do you need to make bronze? Heck what time do you need to make gold? The slow camera makes this a hell test because you have to controll the camera and the car or you can't see where you are going (1st person is even worse). The game really needs a faster camera swing some times. Its annoying to have all gold medals and then I can't even get a bronze Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

With taking the corners wrong I mean stopping (even for a second)in the turn. Study the video (appears before you can hit spacebar to continue), and look closely at it. The reason why people complain is because some of us who have gamepads are using one hand for the pad, one for the keyboard, and it's impossible to use the mouse...and the camera in this game couldnt possibly be more illogical and annoying I found that the only way to get past it was to do 1st person view Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I like that Splinter Cell style Dark, Bumper cam suks even more as I said and I use Mouse+Keyboard not gamepad. So far the best I can seem to get is 37. Every other test has been gold on second try. I also noticed that according to my firend who timed me my laps are 6 seconds but the dumb game doesn't sem to be registering it. Do you need the stupid schools for 100 percent? Easy. Because the camera sucks and I am using the mouse to drive while trying to hit 3 other keys. AND it takes time to try to swing the camera around by which time the trial is over becuase you went too slow. Honestly how the heck did you do it in under 39 seconds. The 1st person camer is not wide enough to see the cones in time to turn. And I make the power slides fine, I am thinking it is the mouse+key controls becuase my buddy who can do it in close to 32 seconds with his game pad can barely get fory on mine. Is way to bouncy for me. Thought the no powerslide worked. But still can't get a gold in it or the 90 deg one only ninty nine percent which is annoying. That and the last one I keep spining out and it ends. You need a better car for that one. What does it take for a gold? A min and half? The driving school is by far the most annoying school. GodGell Posted June 25, 2005 Share Posted June 25, 2005 on the 5 lap thing i still only have 96%. i use this technique: just before the turn, throw the car in with the handbrake, then dip the normal brakes twice to stop it from sliding then floor it. this is the highest score i reached so far, i lose a lot of time on the straights, because the Banshee doesn't accelerate so good. Player_2 Posted June 26, 2005 Share Posted June 26, 2005 I had the same problem with the 'Burn and Lap' at Driving School and also with the 'Parachute Onto Target' at Flying School. I parachuted perfectly but never could make it in time until I figured something out. The timer doesn't seem to be synchronized with your frame rate. So if your frame rate is too low you will never be able to get gold in 'Burn and Lap' or 'Parachute Onto Target'. To prevent this I just changed the Visual FX Quality from Very High to Low and changed the Drawing Distance to the lowest setting (didn't have any Mip Mapping or AA on). Then I had a better frame rate and was able to get gold at 'Parachute Onto Target' on my first try and 'Burn and Lap' gold on my tenth or so try. DigitallyInsane^ Posted June 27, 2005 Share Posted June 27, 2005 I've got Gold on this mission on PS2 and Xbox, it took me a while, but I got there in the end, I can't really seem to nail the cornering technique, i keep fluking it. The target time for gold on those btw was 35 seconds, and I use the second furthest/closest external camera, as you cannot see the cones on the INSIDE of the corner using the bumper cam, and I end up hitting them. I just started bout half an hour ago trying on PC, and It is a LOT harder, it's extremely frustrating!!!!!!!!!!!! Somebody needs to find a way to make the +27 trainer or a new trainer have the ability to freeze the driving school timer, they already have freeze regular mission timer....
