s l i m
So i'm in the game, playing around, doing missions, tapping hookers asses, etc... then i decide to pause for a while and get a snack.. i press esc to go to the menu and sometimes the game just blanks out and no response... i get this blank screen, cant move the mouse, alt tab and all i see is this black screen and my windows cursor.... this happens often but not all the time... I have all the latest drivers for my sound and video card.. this is really pissing me off...
DJMind
I have the same problem, it doesn't happen all the time, but it happens alot. It also happens about half of the time I walk or run into the save point disc. I haven't found a fix yet as most people are not having this problem. My Specs: AMD Sempron 2500+ w/ 256MB DDR333-SDRAM Chaintech SKT600 NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 440 Soundblaster Live! Microsoft Windows XP Professional (Service Pack 2)

//ghost
There have been several known issues that cause this. 1) Nvidia sound drivers (if you use onboard sound) - uninstall/reinstall/update 2) Catalyst drivers for ATI cards - if you are using the latest ones, roll back to a previous version one-by-one until it starts working. If you don't really care which version you use, Catalyst 4.9's have a very high chance of solving your problem, as they are very stable for most if not all games. You can also get drivers that boost your video performance - Omega Drivers (google them) Those are modified Catalyst and Nvidia drivers that raise your fps and general performance compared to Catalysts. 3) Sound Cards in general - update your drivers for the sound card I don't know of anything else you can try at the moment, but I hope this helps.
