Blitzie
I love to explore on foot. But I can't do it with GTAIII because it seems everytime I run down a slope, I'm jolted at 300 mph only to fly to my death! This is a HUGE problem. I don't understand why I can't find any other people complaing about. It a rather prominent problem in my case, why hasn't Rockstar ever fixed it? I asked a friend who played the PS2 version, and said that happens to him as well. I also am having a small sound problem. It seems many of the sounds (if not all) are being cut short before they complete themselves. It is most noticable in things like the menu sounds and pedestrian chatter. They'll only say half of what their supposed to, then just stop. Is there a way to fix these things? I'm playing the PC version. Demarest
i don't know upgrade to version 1.1 PLEASE if you don't know, do not recommend the patch. The patch generally hinders the game more that helps it. Ironically... I love to explore on foot. But I can't do it with GTAIII because it seems everytime I run down a slope, I'm jolted at 300 mph only to fly to my death!http://www.pixelgames.com/blitz/images/gta3runbug.jpg GTA3 was highly criticized for this and if I'm not mistaken, the 1.1 patch was pirmarily made to address that. Back up your EXE and head to R*'s site to grab the patch. If it doesn't fix it, switch back. As for the audio, that's something I'd try reinstalling to address. Demarest
Well for one, savegames are version specific. After that, it's mostly in terms of trainer usage and mission coding tryouts. Point being that SO many people just say "patch it" without understanding what the patch is actually for. Ye olde "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". qorilla
"if it ain't broke, don't fix it" I don't agree... It also has the feature that it reads the audio from HDD so it's much faster... And as another result the machine is not that loud either... I don't have problems but i still use 1.1 for this reason...
Demarest
But then you're not disagreeing with it. You're saying it's broke by not playing from hard drive I agree with you. I just use a no-CD patch as opposed to 1.1 because I mod and there's several benefits to keeping it 1.0.
qorilla
Ok. Then you meant something like "dont fix it, unless you'd like 1.1 for any reason." And 1.1 is not like No-CD, it reads the CD on start.
