MyMothersMySister
For some reason I decided to take my ipod out to work last night but when i got there I oucldn't access any music at all?? I got home today and hooked it up to my pc and all my albums are on it plain as day yet my ipod won't find them when I browse through it. I know my gf was messing with it a while ago and maybe she's pressed or done something to it. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions as I'm a techno nublet. Cheers. Wow, Liam, my friend has the exact same problem. He can go through the list of music and browse everything, but clicks a song to play, it stays looking for it for like 30 seconds, and just shuts off. It has been like that for him for quite awhile. There isn't anything you can really do to fix it I don't think. I'll ask him about it again. But yeah, it seems broke for good. But my friend's has been f*cked up for quite some time, and shows no signs it will just start working again. And from the way Liam described his problem, it sounds like the exact same problem. *caresses Liam* It'll be okay.
Opius
You can hard reboot iPods by flicking the hold switch on and off, then holding down MENU and the middle button until it turns off. For some reason Apple don't like you knowing about this, so they bury deep in their tech support page. See if that fixes anything. If not, you may have to do a full restore of the software on the iPod, then move all your music back onto it.
Magephil
Must...resist...tempation to tell you to get something less trendy . It sounds like it *could* be a file type issue, maybe with itunes, but you should do what opius says because he knows what he's talking about. I had already tried this to be honest but absolutley bollocks happens. Think I'll have to try formatting and reinstalling everything again. Must...resist...tempation to tell you to get something less trendy It was bought for my daughter initially but seeing as she's only 6 she'd rather play barbies. pizza guy
That sounds like a serious problem there lad. Probably best to do what opius said. I've got an Ipod Shuffle, no such problems with those.
