What is this trip skiping thing that I keep hearing everyone talking about? I also saw it in the manual. Can someone please tell me what this is? Thanks.

Guessing.....

I think it means that if you fail a mission but don't reload your save, it will start you roughly where you failed next time you trigger the mission. It happened to me during the last storyline mission. I was failing on purpose to try to snag a bulletproof car and next time I triggered the mission, it started halfway through.

Its when you fail a mission, go back to the contact point, and if you have to drive to the main part, it will say that you can push the up button on the D-pad and you are there,

Start

fail

not load

go to contact

push up

at the end of the driving or 'the trip'

Is this only for certain missions?

-Gonna fail Photo Opportunity- sigh.gif

It is usually only use on missions with long drives. Such as driving up Mt. Chilliad.

Yeah Photo Opportunity is used.

Trip Skip: Driving a long way and dying (after reaching destination) you can go back in to mission marker and Trip Skip (default Y) you can press and then it has a short cutscene saying Later That Day... and it fades to black then fades in just beside your destination.

I wish they would have included this option in more missions. I only ever experienced it once. Meanwhile there were at least five other long, difficult missions where I would have given my right arm to not have to repeat the first section over and over again.

Also, you must drive to the place first in order to Tri Skip to appear!

If you are doing "Photo Opportunity" or any other "get to that location" mission and you want "Trip Skip," you must drive to the place first! You cant just fail the mission and expect a "Trip Skip" will appear, because it wont. You must drive to the place, fail the mission, reload mission and then "Trip Skip" will be avaliable.

NOTE: Trip Skip are only avaliable on "get to that loaction" missions. If the "get to that location" missions have some sort of timer, no "Trip Skip" will appear.
