Bartleby
I didn't make a big mistake, but a stupid one, whilst doing the mission "Vertical Bird". I had successfully gunned down all of the military personnel in my way, and entered the Hydra to fly off and progress to the next phase of the mission. The instructions told me to press 2 and 8 to control the Hydra's altitude during takeoff or something to that effect. I complied...and held 2 down. The Hydra started to plummet until it was hovering very close to the ocean. I pressed the nose down button in a panic, to try to get some height via going forward (It was here that I found out that the Hydra controls more like a chopper than a plane). The jet sank even lower and finally dipped into the waves. Mission Failed.
silverblade
I can only remember a few. First was with the learning to fly missions. The one you need to fly a circle and then land.... I, after lots of trying, got past all the coronas and had to land, almost at the ground, but forgot to put the wheels back, so my plane hit the ground, didnt explode though and flew through the finishing spot, I lost the control and crashed in the safe house there... Another one was with Cop wheels, I had my 3th bike on it, went of the bike, the trailertruck hit a car, I flew of and got smashed by a police car Last one was on meat business. I killed everyone (at least thought so at that moment) and was waiting for ken, but he didn't come. So I went into the freezer and got trapped

Fluffyinsanity
I do a lot of stupid things that end up in mission failures: When I was going to rob the liquor store with Catalina, I entered the blow up all cars cheat during the cutscene, which blew up the robbers' quad bikes. The cutscene went on forever because the dudes couldn't get onto their bikes. I didn't fail the mission, but I couldn't pass it either. I wasted all my smoke grenades on the part of "Breaking the Bank at Caligula's" where you have to smother the guys at the safe. It was nearly impossible for me to accurately place a nade down the chute. Then there was a humiliating message that said "You idiot, you wasted all the smoke grenades!" On the mission "You've Had Your Chips," I placed satchel charges on the machines and instead of leaving the wharehouse, I stayed inside and blew myself up. Like another poster, I got locked in the freezer with Rosenberg. On "End of the Line," I tried to be stylish by sneaking up on an enemy and stabbing him from behind, but some guy jump out from behind a corner and shot me in the face with a shotgun. On "Ice Cold Killa" I took Jizzy's Pimpmobile around the back of his club, parked it next to the water, and shot out the tires. When he ran out of the building to get in, he drove into the sea and I failed because I didn't retrieve his cellular phone. I zoned out on the mission "A Home in the Hills" and didn't open my parachute. I had to retry "Fender Ketchup" about 8 times because I ALWAYS crashed into stuff and killed Sindacco. DWatch
I'm playing the PC version, so the camera is independent of the character, Carl. I usually move the camera around a lot when playing. Now, most PC shooter games, when you throw a grenade, it goes where your looking, which is usually where the character is looking. Having a seperate camera control and character control like GTA-SA has is odd to me, I'm still getting used to it, and I have finished the last mission. Anyway.... I finally, after several tries, finish the mission 'missappropriation', where you have to kill the agent and take the documents, but they are picked up by agents when you kill him, and you end up in a helicopter chasing the agents in thier helicopter. I finally got them (after they land on the building) and get the documents, and complete the mission... but I was pretty frustrated by this point, so I lob a grenade at the agents helicopter, just for spite. Or so I thought. Actually the camera was facing the copter. Carl was, in fact, facing a wall, and the grenade bounced back near my feet and went off. Wasted! Took me three more tries to complete this mission, and this time, I didn't throw any grenades.
The_Dancing_Cat
lmao! Heh heh, all good stuff! I've got another one, grr, I actually wish I didn't I was doing the last Quarry mission, and I was having real difficulty pushing the bodybag to the crane. I finally got it there with about 3 and a half minutes to spare, fumbled about with the crane (the whole mission drove me CRAZY!!!) and then finally managed to get them both in. I raced up the quarry, almost losing the bike and body as they slid down the back, but got to the water! I had little time left, so I was hurrying to back up to the water. I did so, too hastily, and fell in and failed! I was FUMING. Managed to pass it when I had calmed down though
Cartoon Corpse
on fender ketchup i (dunno why) actually thought the insane stunt from the sixth floor of the emerald isle parking garage wouldn't kill him! and my car was already smoking! we exploded on impact! oh and once i actually flipped the little rubber boat in san fiero at pier. couldn't right it, it wouldn't explode...and i was unsure if i would be able to dive to get out, it kept stopping me from diving. anyway i left it upsidedown. oh and in circle the airport, i'd get all frustrated and start spazzing at the controls so my plane is doing all this weird crap. i finally caught on that if i fly as long as possible instead of crashing on purpose when things aren't looking good, i get more practice.
