m0onKniGht Posted June 24, 2005 Share Posted June 24, 2005 my most funny screw up was also in the grove 4 life mission, i was planning on going over to intruduce some bullets to the ballas (pun intended) but there were no cars in the groove so i was running around with sweet on my back, then i see an ambulance speeding over, i run to the other side of the road (wich would be the wrong side for it...) but guess what the ambulance suddenly turns my way, i manage to duck but sweet didnt have that much luck, he got ran over by the ambulance...now thats what i call irony Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

And I got meself a tank from Area 69, and the Vigilante missions were a piece of cake! I'm not sure if I should do Paramedic or Firefighter next. I gotta say, the reward for Vigilante is a bit sucky, but Firefighter is probably most useful for the final mission! Anyway, excellent failures I need more though! I did the "Up, Up and Away" mission last night. Fought my way through half the US Army, shot down the helicopters, flew that pig handling piece of crap helicopter to the armored car and took it to the airstrip. Then a damn sandstorm blew in and blew my helicopter all over the place. I ended up destroying the truck because I couldn't control the chopper in the wind. Neu_Lyf Posted June 24, 2005 Share Posted June 24, 2005 I was doin one of the stupid missions where og loc tells u to steal a van loaded with a hi-fi sound system, i got 3000 pontos for the dance and jacked the van then this dj started shootin the van so i exited the van and killed the dj and the other people shootin me and suddenly the mission failed thingy sprouted out from nowhere , i turned around and i couldnt find the van only to find out that it slipped into the sea ........ The fire truck is difficult to control, and the ambulance topples like a tower of dominoes in an earthquake The easiest spot for me is in Angel Pine to do the Paramedic Missions. Pedestrians will spawn within the small town, and about 20 second drive from the hospital to drop them off. Firefighter Missions can easly be done in Angel Pine or San Fierro, it's a big strong truck and can take up damage for long time. Now Vigilante Missions is for me the hardest if I'm in a police vehicle. If your vehicle is high damaged you can't go to Pay N Spray so I suggest to get a Rhino. Hitting R3 happened to me too but since these missions can easly be done, there is no need for anger. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
topcatdk Posted June 24, 2005 Share Posted June 24, 2005 Freefall mission: After attempt number 2000 or so in catching the jet with the Dodo and asking for help on this forum btw. I finally got it right, ended up on the plane for the shooting game no problem until the pilot showed up, managed to get him also with just a fraction of helth left, then I just had to land the jet, well guess what I forget, that's right I didn't hit 2 before hitting the ground, hard, very hard and booooooom (2=lower landing gear). Back when I was playing on a PS2 (I hate auto-aim and gamepads) I gave up on the game with the mission where you have to shoot down some choppers attacking another chopper which carry some stuff for the agency guy. Anyway I failed that mission 3 times in a row when I rushed to try and target the choppers while they passed "my" chopper and so I hit the wrong one, ouch..... I did Medical in Angel Pine and firefighter in SanFierro, Firefighter in Angel Pine can be a pain asvehicles on the freeway and the mountain is a good chance of flipping the truck or crashing into stuff. I start hosing him down and I end up hosing him over the edge of road. I have no idea where he ended up because I ran out of time. Second time - down by the LS River - same thing again - hose a woman down she dissappears into the river. I drive down. Hose her down and then can't get back out of the river. It's like the mission "Cutting The Grass" in GTA3. Well, everything was going fine until when the reporter went outside of the train station to look for taxicab. I followed him out, and once I saw him standing outside on the curb, I knew I needed a ride quick to follow him. I wanted to jack the nearest car. I saw a taxi coming towards me, so I sprinted towards it. I forced my way into the passenger's side, but for some reason instead of shoving the drive out, CJ just sat in the passenger's side. And then the taxi continued towards the reporter I was supposed to stay away from. I accidently got in actual taxi that was scripted to pick up the guy, so there was no way to jack it. Once, it pulled up towards the reported the spook meter filled, and I failed the mission. I was extremely pissed off so even though I failed, I ran towards the reported and blasted his ass with my sawn off shotgun. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Spiritualized Posted June 24, 2005 Share Posted June 24, 2005 I've been trying to complete vigilante on the HPV1000 (police bike) all day, I've usually ended up in the water when I reached the higher levels 9+, either falling off a cliff or being pushed there by the ranger-type police. Very annoying. I finally did it just now but I was so close to dying at literally the last point. I had one car full of people left to kill so instead of getting too near to the car (and risk getting shot) I got off the bike to line up my rocket launcher. Despatched the car but their was a cop right next to me totally laying into me with his gun, my health bar was flashing just as I reached the bike and got back on. DidierSucks Posted June 24, 2005 Share Posted June 24, 2005 40 minutes into the Ambulance missions in West Los Angeles, Level 12, 4 down, 8 to go, 3 minutes of time left. "Just don't make any big mistakes and you can cruise to victory." I say to myself. The next guy to pick up is away from the roads so I'm cutting through that park just south of the hospital, you know, the one with that goofy "sculpture" that looks sort of like a curved ramp. Yeah, you know what's coming. I was looking at the map in the corner trying to figure out where the patient was and I rolled two wheels up the sculpture and tipped the ambulance over on it's side. So I jump out thinking "I'll push it back onto it's wheels." Mission over. I guess they don't give you 20 seconds to get back in the vehicle the way they do on the vigilante missions. Sad thing was that this was my third try. 45 minutes later the 4th try suceeded. I was just finishing Ambulance Level 11 when a cop chase started with a ped. I did a turf war at Verona beach a few minutes ago. Half the second wave spawned underwater. Then two of my recruits jumped in after them, then started screaming like they were on fire ROFL I was just standing near the pier looking and the SOBs started shooting at me. I had to shoot down into the water to kill them. It didn't cause me to fail or anything, but it was friggin hilarious. I wish I'd had FRAPS going. I was driving around when I spotted a car I hadn't seen before, and much to my surprise, Euros! I was like, "Oh man!! Finally!!". Started my long'ish drive to Easter Basin docks.. Banged it up a little on my way there (not a surprise there, considering the reckless driving that usually takes place in GTA world). Decided that the car needs some spraying before it's representable, so I drove to a Spray shop near the docks, when it happened.. I hit this biker, and of course, that biker just went apesh*t. He started ramming me around and I was just thinking (a bit laughing) like: "What is wrong with that dude". Pummeling my car with a bike, a CAR with a BIKE!? I thought that I'm not gonna take this from a biker, and started ramming him, hunting him around until... Yup.. In the heat of the moment, I just drove off a little ledge, flipped over my car, watched it explode!! Wiped the grin right off my face, didn't feel like laughing anymore.. Of course I just went on and saved, went to the nearest helipad in San Fierro, flew all the way back to get myself another Euros, and, there wasn't any respawned Euros waiting for me there. While chasing him, I flew over the no fly zone in the middle of the desert. Didn't notice the surface to air missiles until they'd already flown up my ass Yeah, the same thing happened to me I was chasing that guy, and we were flying above the desert. I looked down and saw Area 69. "@#$&!" I tried to get the heli around it, but it was already too late. 5 Stars started blinking on my hud. Still managed to follow the guy in the heli. He parked it somewhere, and I jumped out of mine and follow him, to get ran over by a swat car... Got an other one... In the mission Mountain Cloud Boys I got with Woozie in the car, me driving, Woozie shooting the other 2 cars that were chasing us. Our car started to smoke, and at the moment Woozie destroyed the other two cars, our car cought fire. I jumped out of the car, so did Woozie, but he couldn't get away somehow (stupid AI >_>) Woozie said something like "Thank you Carl, I appreciate that you helped me. Goodbye now" WHAM, at that moment our car exploded, taking Woozie with him to car heaven... Mission failed... Also at the mission Ryder, Ryder got out of the pizza store back to the car and I followed him. As soon as I got out of the store, I saw Ryder waiting at the car, I was just about to walk to him, *splat* some Cop on a HPV1000 ran him over... a_non_moose Posted June 27, 2005 Share Posted June 27, 2005 Collecting the oysters, not a "mission-mission", but I'm at 81% for a while because I went stupid and did not realize the final missions for woozy/caligula were the $. DUH. So, I got 35 oysters, and decided to get the map that's labeled. I find the one in the upper right hand corner, under the boat and discover on the way the seasparrow has a machinegun. Grab the oyster for #48, and get a Bright Idea to blow up the boat. Let me just say, that I accept the award for "Moron Hall of Shame" with dishonor. Boats have a very big explosion, and 3 chopper lenghts away is not enuf by a long shot. I blow up the boat, sparrow instantly goes on fire, and I try to bail, only to get blasted all the way to shore, face down on the beach. "WASTED". Luckily, I'd saved at 42 and got back to 49...but I dunno which is worse. The other fsckup: not doing the oyster thing while getting near/on base is only 4 stars. Ever try to get away with 5? Ain't easy, lemme tell you. for the dock run: back up a boat, dive, get the hell out and watch for falling swat in your boat, grab the hunter after flipping a U (clockwise) and fly to hideout's roof. Clear out FBI et al, and save...do not go on a rampage like I did, took down a heli after it came around and coming towards me, with FBI in back. I figure it would be good to get on the train tracks and follow them to LV to avoid the Police. So I drive off the edge of the road and it's a longer drop than I thought!
