I have started making a cable car mod for GTA:SA and was wondering could someone help? i have already started making models, but i will want to know is it possible to get it into the game?

Ok, let me rephrase my question, i need to know if if is possible, for the cbale car to move up and down the mountain on a set path, sort of like the tram cart in San fiero, but above the ground and up to the top of the mountain...

Ok, i have added to my cable car, and put more detail into it:

Any ideas how i can improve it?

 

I'm now starting to create some pylons for the wires to run on. should be on here soon.

your probably gonna need to make 2 cables out of 1 for it to run on.Kinda like a big thin oval.you should be able to program it to follow the cables like the tram that follows the tracks in S.F. like you said.then try to get it to stop for like 30 seconds at the top and bottom of the mountain.Just make sure it doesn't go to fast(I'd like to try and beat it up the mountain with my modified yosemite lol).All in all it should work.Also the cable car is coming along great.Your probably gonna be able to have several cable cars on the cable as well.

Maybe you should code something like this after you get the object in the gta3.img (doesn't have the cable it hangs on):

Hopefully you can make it go slowly at the top and bottom, and faster when travelling between the two

 

Oh, and if possible, make it so we can get cars and bikes on there (I don't know if it will be possible, though)

But, i really won't be able to code it, as i have no knowledge of coding!

 

I'm now working on the pylons, but, i am not sure how i will make the cable >_<

 

Maybe i could, just make small sections of the wire and join them together when i put them in the map editor.

 

 

Oh, and if possible, make it so we can get cars and bikes on there (I don't know if it will be possible, though)

 

Maybe i can make 2 cable cars? i can have the one i have made already, and one with space for a car!

you'll need a cable car house and parking lot lol wood cabin type cable car house would be cool, and maybe like a shed thing for abandoned cable cars and a skeleton in one of them lol details details details tounge.gif .. am i getting carried away ?

not really carried away, but i am making a sort of cable car shed.

 

Any of you lot went skiing? you'll know what i mean, when i say a sort of docking station, where CJ will 'jump' onto the cable car.

 

I might work on the first, because the pylons are not that important, because some BIG cable cars only have the 2 docking stations.

Yes i know what you mean by the shed usually the bigger ones have a big spinning wheel that is exposed and rotates the cables (to which the cable cars are attached of course) this is going to be such a convenient mod

You could probably have the cable cars come so close to the platforms that CJ could just walk in them instead of jumping.Also I'd like to see a type of lodge that has like 50 big nice rooms and one of them could have like a patio or something and you could walk in a room and chill out for a while.And it would have a pool,golf coarse,hunting lodge,all the cool stuff...I guess that is getting Pretty caried away.but would look cool.

There ARE scripted paths in SA, you know.

 

Granted, we don't know how to use them yet, but once we do that would be a much more elegant solution to actually moving the carriages.

Hey guys! got a rough idea for the station:

I've looked over the place where your putting the bottom of the car station and noticed that the area seems a little uneven.Are you going to fix this somehow?

 

Also are you going have a road leading to the station?

 

And isn't that big wheel on the top of the station supposed to be horazontal?

Its not really that short. But I can see what he's thinking. Its gonna be pretty steep.

 

Some of them are though, On vacation I was on one that took a good 3 minutes to get to the top of the mountain because it started a long way out. But there were a few that just went straight from the base to the summit.

here is the perfect place.I don't no about you but I think it's the perfect route.Please check out the locations in game.It start's out on a hill already in a good sized parking lot with a hotdog guy and a bus that spawns there which is perfect cause its like a turist attraction.Also its not to steep up either.The perfect location. biggrin.gif It's cool that it goes over a river and trees to.If your gonna change the location change it to this.

That's where i thought about in the begining! but i thought i would put it in the hills, next to the trees, but I see now, that that is a good place, as it has a road leading to it, and ike you said... a car park.

I don't know what the ETA is...

 

The only thing that needs to be done now, is to put the final textures on the models, and then get them ingame, but then comes a large problem, which is making the car move along the wire... I still do not know if this will work!
