BETA 4 is now released

Beta 4 has new mod selection and visual car selection pages, and i have ficed almost all of the bugs that have been commented here.

i do not worry. the distributed setup file, and the installed file has my signature. This is my hobby, and i am pleased to see that it is also distributed by other means than my server.

 

btw. as i have already stated, the admin console is free. the source is also free.

I have come across one glitch that may have been mentioned before.

 

Whilst using the "teleport to girlfriends location" i have noticed that a door has now appeared.  It has happened with both Katie and Barbara at exactly the same co-ordinates as the teleport location.  These doors started out as not solid but since saving the game- they now are solid.

 

Could it just be a coincidence or could the console be causng this?

 

 

anyway - at the moment, these doors dont seem to impeding my gameplay too much, my cars get stuck in the doors when i now teleport, but i can struggle free - so its not much of a problem.

this has been a kind of bug on the code, and i have now fixed it as much as i could.

 

the problem was that gtasa is dynamically changing the pointers of the location matrixes that gets assigned to the player and cars. the pointer gets for example reassigned to a concrete slab, or a door or sth. else during the teleporting. so the door gets also teleported!!.

 

now the admin console checks if the position matrix pointer is still valid before and during each teleport. i hope this helps.

Previous car open shortcut dose not seem to work btw.

gtasa reassigns the car pointers very quickly. so the previous car is almost never available (unless it is still on sight). that's why the commands that control the previous car are not always available.

Ok, i have a problem and i do not know if this is do to the admin console beta3, perhaps others are or had this same problem, I am on the end of the line mission and just got sweets off the back of tenpenny's fire truck there is a small cut scene showing sweets taking the wheel so cj can bust some caps in the po po's ass thats on the back of the fire truck. Ok as soon as cj sits in the passenger seat their car goes BANG i redone it 4 times each time the car explodes right after the shwitch. Now i have engine health at max the car is ep,colls,fp,bf and car weight is 50.1 tons. i havent had this problem with any other car chases so why am i having it now at the last mission. Is this a resault of the admin console or perhaps a glitch or what? does any one else have this problem or is it just my damn dumb luck?.................

i cannot reproduce this error. i have not played the game myself further than a few missions. i spent much of my time hacking memory addresses. i plan to play the game from beginning to the end once to be able to get the relevant memory locations related to missions (for the reserved sub-missions page of the console). i will then be able to check this issue.

are there certain cars you can't spawn with Admin Console?

I couldn't for the life of me get a Broadway into the Johnson

house garage - probably just a blip

you cannot place trains, tram or the RC cars on the garages. i have changed the GTASAConfig.dat, so that they do not appear on the garage editor selection list (the game crashes when you park a train into a garage). However broadway should actually be ok.

damn good console, but how come i can't mod my car, it says "There are no mods available for this car" when i have a car like Jester or ZR-350

delete the GTASAData.dat file, and let it be recreated by the console. this file contains also the modding details (beta4), that were not available under beta3.

 

you can also extend your modding experience by editing this file with a text editor. the file format is written into the file.

i'm programmer myself 'n' i allready have all necessary runtime files... of course they are in use but none of them needs to be updated! why can't i skip that???

either:

 

go get the visual studio 6.0 service pack 6 for your design environment (if you are using msvs). this is the file that gets installed, and that requires restart. (this service pack is fairly new.)

 

or:

 

the setup exe is a wise script that you can unzip. so unzip the zip file that you have downloaded to get the setup executable. unzip the executable to get the files that are installed. copy the gtasaconsole.exe and the folder \carpics to anywhere, and run the console.

Good program. I think you should add a weapon section to it where you can edit the amount of ammo and weapons available.

i used to have such a section on the gta3 console. the gtavc and gtasa consoles do not have this, because the weapon cheats count as 'light' cheats, and do not affect your overall score in the game. so i myself have assigned one of the weapon cheats to a shortcut, and use that key when i need weapons or ammo.

Then you get that dumb message every time you save. Makes me feel like a loser and messes with my mild OCD. dontgetit.gif

is it possible to create my own keyboard shortcuts? Because you can make the car i was in previously accelerate without being in it (increase car speed by 5%), so i want to make it turn and reverse without being in it

 

and can i add more mods?

must have took an age to get those photos

 

It would be a great help to have a real-time map in Admin Console that

showed you where you were in the big scheme of things. This wasn't

needed for GTA3 or Vice City but I think it is a must for San Andreas

because of it's sheer size.

 

Would this be possible?

OK, besides the garage editer in beta4 what else is different with beta4? has infinte run been added? any new cheats. ive looked at beta4 and i just see the garage editer has changed other then that i havent noticed any thing else and does the submission work now cus i could never get it to work with the other beta's. please let me know TIA!!

I have done my share of researcj and development for GTA3. One tool that has been absolutely indispensible from the start has been the Admin Console. I only had two gripes: you couldn't enter in coordinate info (you actually had to be there first) and that the locations list couldn't be reordered. Even with those, I have always swore by the tool and it has saved me countless hours smile.gif Since I just noticed this thread, I had to drop by and give praise to the author. Thank you very much.

 

Just out of curiosity, do you have any intentions of later furthering the VC Console? I've only just now found out that it exists and have yet to try it. Just curious.

the beta 5 will be available on the next few days (perhaps during or after this weekend).

main changes will be on new functions that let you cheat without the game knowing about it (safe cheating), changeable progress levels with girlfriends, infinite/max type cheats.

Any chance you can create a built in car spawner?

i am sorry, but i cannot. this is beyond the scope of admin console work method. on beta 5 however, you will be able to cheat (ie use car spawn cheats) without the game setting the cheated flag and cheated count, so you get no cheat penalty when calculating game score or no nag screen on the save game menu.

thank you very much for your kind words. i intend to change the teleporting system, so that you can enter the XYZ coordinated manually, or select the location from GTA SA Map to teleport.

 

i have no time to improve the VC console. i can release the source code if anyone would like to improve though.

 

here is some bad news. the 100 hours that i have reserved for the development of gta sa admin console is almost over. i am not planning to spend more coding hours on this project. the beta 5 will actually be the release version. i will release the source code as well, if anybody would like to improve the console, or use parts of it.

 

also, the reserved space for the sub-missions will be used for the gta sa map, and there will be no sub-missions tab on the release version. the sub-missions are heavily dependant on the main.scm, and there are (and will be) numerous main.scm editions available. i cannot hack all available scm's to make sure the console works with them.

 

i have not played the game more than a few missions. my completion pct. is around 8%. all of the memory locations, cheats and methods have been found by means of debugging the game process. i hereby thank all fellow programmers and modders that also have found gtasa memory locations and posted on the relevant topic on gtaforums.
