The manual isn't clear, and the list under the options->configuration isn't very helpful either. I've tried [TAB] ('action') amongst others, but that doesn't work. I've also tried manically pressing keys as I'm falling, but always hit the deck before I've found the correct key. GodGell Posted June 20, 2005 Share Posted June 20, 2005 (edited) the first time i parachuted i had the same problem, i remember someone saying it's G or H but that didn't work. actually i made a video of it and it's quite funny as i manage to open my parachute about 6-8 meters above the ground and then i splash. use the fire button (left/right ctrl or left mouse click) edit: here is the video. Thanks in advance, Royston Opening the chute works like shooting so if you remaped the shoot button use that key. I ahve noticed some times it takes a few to open. Luckily, during the Dam mission, I landed in the water, but I've had problems opening my chute on a couple of occasions. PC keys can be remapped; there's no guarantee your LMB does the same thing as a previous poster's. This is why PC keys should be listed by command, as GodGell has done. Look on your control configuration for the keys you have mapped to "fire weapon" while on foot. Any of those should open the 'chute. There parachute can also be buggy. There are times when CJ will go into the "falling" animation even with a chute equipped, and if it doesn't correct itself in time, you will splat. And MI7 reported some problems with the parachute working if you already had one in your inventory before you get on the plane, but I don't recall the details of that.
