thedude777
I had GTA:SA installed on my PC. But then I used a mod which required me to change a lot of files. It didn't work when I play the game (I don't know why) so I decided to change the files back. But I discovered that I couldn't find the files I had backed up. They were deleted by my cousin (I hate him so much). So I uninstalled GTA:SA & re-installed in because I didn't want to search for all of the files I needed. I started the installation, and a little bit into it I got this: So I tried again, same thing. What the f*ck is going on?!? Why won't it let me install it again?? Help me please! Thanks in advance! Dimwit
i would delete every trace of san andreas on your computer. if you want to keep your savegame, then put it into a different folder of than the sa user files one. then try reinstalling. and if your d drive is your dvd drive, then then it says that there is an error with one of the files on the disc, data2.cab. find that file and try moving it into a different folder. sorry if this didn't help. thedude777
I did. I deleted it all & then all of my backups & the entire "Rockstar Games" folder (because there's nothing in there anymore)

CleTus SlackJaw
He means. Start > Run > type regedit That opens up your registry. Then ctrl f and find everything that has to do with san andreas. I dunno what they name it, as I do not have it for PC.. So maybe.. Rockstar games, SA , san andreas... Delete all that.
maf
I hope this isn't the finite copy protection at work; though it'd be ridiculous for the game to only be installed once and then subsequent attempts fail because the disc can only be read and installed one time. I think it's a problem with some DVD drives. I did an install on a mate's PC and got a CRC error, but we ran the installed again and it worked the second time. Could be just the huge amount of data having to be pulled from the disc to hdd that causes it.
Neu_Lyf
just copy the danging contents of the dvd to your hard disk and run the setup from there. Edited June 23, 2005 by Spooky
