pixelrage
everyone looks for a scapegoat to draw attention away from the fact that they've failed at raising their own kids.
SanAndreasFool
but what i dont understand is, the fact that there are millions of people who have played the game much more than this kid did, so why aren't they all going on killing sprees? I played the hell out of VC so why havent i murdered anyone yet? just because one kid does it doesn't mean you have to blame GTA! when you are getting hundreds of murders caused all by kids who have played and finished any GTA series, then is the time to sue the makers of this almighty game!!! this one guy on you said "This is as bad as child porn" lol! that is sad
DXfoxman
Look. Americans really need to quit trying to blame stuff like this on someone or something else. Whenever something bad happens, people think it has to be someone elses fault. People have absolutely NO logic and reasonaning anymore. Look here... it says it all http://www.power-of-attorneys.com/stupid_l...ion.asp?wacky=
poopskin
This is strange, i am 12 years old, playing GTA since 11 years old, and i never had the urge to blast cops in the face, then joyride in thier cop car i've played GTA since i was 8 and i haven't killed anyone. (though i am disgusted by most people....they are diiiiisgusting...)
Junky911
Ive played GTA since VC (played III too though) and never had the urge to hurt, kill, steal a car or any act of violence against someone with GTA in mind. What I mean is if someone punches me I punch them...twice as hard. But its not like I think 'Ohh lets go an a rampage and kill everyone joyride a car and own the city'. Anyways I have a real short temper so I tend to get nasty real quick...
NeXiLe
i'm not sure who said it a while back but.. i'm sure a head wouldn't be that hard of a target to hit.. it says he shot each of them 4 times or something.. i'm guessing the first one wasn't in the head anyways or it would just be stupid to waste bullets on a dead guy;) but yeah.. i rarely shoot guns but i've shot wuite a few different guns and it's not hard to hit a small target.. one time i hit a popcan hanging off a tree branch with my potato gun from quite far away:D and i've let my friends little brother shoot my paintball gun as long as we watch him and make sure he doesn't do something stupid and he can hit what he wants quite easily.. Flash Grenade
Oh. My. God. I was sitting in the other room, playing GTA:SA, and all of a sudden, my grandfather in the other room was watching CBS, or whatever channel 20/20 came on, and I hear, "Can videogames train people to kill?" and I'm looking at the screen with like, 20 bodies of peds around me, with CJ holding a Deagle... Either way, videogames can't train you to kill. If they're saying, "the game influenced him to do it", ok, did he have the controller to his ear, and was the controller saying, "KILL THE COP. DO IT. NOW."? I think not. His choice. And I'm 12 and I can do a head shot. I was practicing shooting with my BB pistol, and I had made like a little guy out of popcans by stacking it up, I fired 3 shots in a second, (semi-auto. C02, so I can squeeze off BB's real fast.) 1 shot hit the chest of popcan man, and 2 hit it's head. (I'm still trying to figure out the recoil on that thing. That's why my shots were shaky.) Edit: If it was a .40 Glock then it shouldn't have been that hard to control, would it? And since when did cops use Glocks? I think our local cops use H&K... Tril
@DXfoxman: It's not only Americans fool! It's all over the place! Somebody told me this I'm not sure if it's true so don't start yelling at me...But someone killed somebody and blamed Manhunt for it and England banned the game from the market... tommygun1
Yeah bud, its a bit annoying when you qualify all americans as doing this. Read the posts before you say that and maybe check the origins. So far I haven't blamed GTA for any of the people I've killed. OK maybe I should rephrase that. JK. Anyway the point is, a lot of "Us Americans" are on your side in this arguement. But just keep in mind that sometimes lawyers take advantage of people and redirect these people's anger. It makes me sick hearing some of this stuff, and some of you might want to clarify who your anger is aimed at because these people lost their family and regardless of if you agree with them or (most likely) not. It's not their fault here. Blame the stupid lawyers for setting it up and the justice system for making the case possible. Again, I'm of the mind that its his fault and his fault alone. To a certain extent you can say its his parents, but in the end he still had a choice and he made a bad one, regardless of his supposed reasons. nlitement
"If people who read my site end up killing themselves over it, then you have to wonder how long they would have lived in the first place." -Maddox We can think in a bit different way: "If people who play GTA end up killing others over it, then you have to wonder for how long they would haven't killed in the first place." @DXfoxman:It's not only Americans fool! It's all over the place! Somebody told me this I'm not sure if it's true so don't start yelling at me...But someone killed somebody and blamed Manhunt for it and England banned the game from the market... Yeah I remember it was some dipsh*t demographic noob (and a jock?) who killed his "friend" cause he wouldn't copy the game to him. I always wanted to ask him: Hey dumbass, ever heard of piratism and obtaining games via the Internet?
Socko53
You know, i don't seem to recall any people in the 1980s jumping down pipes and throwing fireballs at armys of turtles. And I don't seem to recall any kids in the 1990s trapping small electrified rodents in red spheres and making them fight eachother. Not to worry though, everyone has tried to sue the makers of GTA ever since 1996, and they have never been successful. Remember the infamous Washington DC sniper a while back? They tried to pin that on our pal Claude of Liberty City. Nothing happened after that though. Besides, we all know Rollercoaster Tycoon was the game behind that killing spree... BlackMesa
I freaking hate it when people jump all over video games, because they want a quick buck, to get on TV, and in this case beat a murder rap. They used to say that comic books caused juvenille delinquency, did they? No. Same with games. Anyone f*cked up enough to blur the lines between game and real life is bound to cause trouble GTA or no GTA. Did GTA tell him how to handle a gun at all? No. Did it teach him how to steal and drive a car? Not unless there are two analog sticks in a patrol car. I have owned and/or played every GTA out there. At times while playing GTA I go on rampages and yes, cops do get killed. But I know its a freaking game. In actuallyity I would never shoot anyone, and I hope to become a Cop after college. Im the least violent person you have ever met, yet I play tons of games. Weird aint it? In fact games are actually less violent than movies, GTA especially. No one forces you to do anything in GTA. you dont have to kill a single person. You can sit and drive around all day and do taxi, fire, and ambulence missions if you want. Thats the beauty of the game, its a sandbox. Yet if you watch an episode of CSI, or the Sopranos, or the Godfather or anything, what happens... happens. If they kill a cop, they do, and your forced to watch it or turn it off. There are no other options unlike a game. I also hate all the damn shrinks that pop up on the TV to criticize games. They just do it to get on TV, they really dont know sh*t about sh*t. My favorite are the people who call themselves "Video Game Violence experts" Well, where the hell did they get their degree? Huh? The school of violenceology? They dont know video games, they just think they do. Sorry if this makes no sense, but when people criticize games without knowing the facts, it bothers me. To the person who said they didnt know that cops carry glocks, they do, and they have for a while. In NYC its the choice of a Sig (226 I believe) S&W 40 or a Glock. I know this incident was not in NY but its bound to be the same all over.
tommygun1
Now I was JUST watching television, worlds greatest police chases, where a 15 year old kid took a Beamer for a 150 MPH car chase, he was being chased by a LT1 Camaro Police Interceptor with a performance chip. Its funny that the guy commentating the whole thing, said he was driving like he was going for first place in A VIDEOGAME. Now that I can almost believe. But even then there is something wrong with the kid. But you don't hear him blaming NFS or old school Cruisen USA. Just food for thought. Edit: I live in South Georgia and our cops carry Glocks too, so its safe to say the East Coast does.
