123abc
While playing San Andreas, I noticed something. The semi's don't have dual rear wheels. To most, that should come as no suprise, considering the way it reads wheel models is theres only one of them in the DFF file. But, I looked at the PS2 verson, and the semi's have dual rear wheels. Here are the 2 pix: PC: PS2: This makes me wonder what R* was thinking. They opened up sooo many options for us modders, but then take away the option of having different wheels in the front and back?

DexX
your right. this appears to be disabled (why i dont know), but i found a roadtrain, which is also supposed to have dual rear wheels, and it doesn't. for the record, this is controlled via a flag in the handling.cfg, although it doesnt look like it does anything anymore. great f*cking port R*
BenMillard
I can only think of sweary words as a response to this. The case for GTASA v1.1 gets stronger and stronger?
123abc
I think the only way to change this would involve coding, no? If we could, it'd be nice to make the game read both the wheel_rf dummy for the front wheel model, then the wheel_rr dummy for the rear wheel model. I think that'd be the right way to do it, but I personally have no idea how we could do that. Would it be in the .exe? Or the main.sc?

Or the main.sc? the object and handling definitons are hardcoded in the exe, so they would have to recompile a new version where the hells the patch? can we demand one? we can try. and you got my support. JernejL
the gta-sa exe dates into 28th april, so they had quite some time to test it, so all i can say about all these problems that they were just too lame to do it properly or just don't care about it. 123abc
I suppose we can't go in the exe and edit it ourselves then eh? We'd probably need the source code and sh*t. I still have hope though, that theres some way to get past this.
DexX
the 28th was probably just a deadline, a point at which no further changes to the exe are allowed. remember, at that point, they still have to finalize everything else, start printing copies of the game and get it all shipped out in just 5 weeks, and any more "last minute changes" could alter the deadline. As far as a fix goes, if R* doesnt fix it with a patch, i wouldnt hold my breath for seeing dual rear wheels, or cars that can actually get dirty/clean. in gta3 there were problems with the texture filtering on the player (there wasnt any, he was pixelated to hell!!) and the headlights didnt work properly (no image) and R* didnt fix those, so i dunno. im not holding my breath this time around
BCspeed34
The dual wheels I don't mind, but the Dirty/Clean thing you mentioned ash, is ticking me off two. The modshop should include a car wash or something ________________________________________ 専車SODO-MOTO International Vehicle Importers
tommygun1
there are car washes all over SA. They were disabled. At the same time that I doubt they'll do it: Do keep in mind that we asked for police motorcycles and we got police motorcycles. We wanted to transport cars with other vehicles, its looking like we can. We wanted air vehicles that worked after GTA3 and we got em. Somebody's listening so e-mails might do the trick. Cross your fingers.

The modshop should include a car wash or something For me, its not nessecaraly the dual rear wheels, but its the fact that we can't have different rear wheels than the front. A lot of the cars I make have different wheels in the rear than the front. Something I also found out, is about the tractor, and a few other vehicles. Notice how tall the rear tires are, but they're about as skinny as the front. When I started messing with the wheel scale numbers, it changed both the width and height of the wheels. Just something to think about I guess.
