dj4aces
I've heard a lot of people have random reboot problems with their computer. There are three likely problems: a. There's a piece of spyware/malware (or even a virus) on your system causing it to reboot at random. You should run Ad-Aware, Spybot Search and Destroy, and a virus scanner (if you don't have one, there's a plethora of free ones out there). b. Your system might actually be overheating. The failsafe mechanism that nearly every ATX motherboard uses, is to reboot the system (or turn it off completely, depending on your BIOS settings). This is meant to give you - the user - indication that there might just be a problem. The solution is to examine your hardware, and fix the problem. c. I've seen corrupt device drivers actually cause this problem, albeit this is rather rare. Your solution is to update your device drivers, starting with the ones that would be used by the game (sound, video, mouse), and spreading out (chipset, network, etc) until the problem is fixed. As far as which one is easiest, well, that's for you to decide. Your computer, while on the low end, is still rather useful. It's not quite reached the "boat-anchor" stage of it's life yet, so while you're at it, you could also upgrade some of your components (more RAM, for instance, will make a world of difference playing that game). I hope this has helped. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/197425-pc-reboots/#findComment-2911576 Share on other sites
gohan2091
My GTA doesnt reboot my computer but it freezes it, I believe we are having the same problem but our computers are showing this in different ways. Your computer responds with a reboot, mine responds with a freeze/crash. Wait for a patch, I am...
