Mankind
I saw this movie a long time ago, and I watched again today. This has got to be one of the most powerful films I've ever seen along with Crash. I felt like I was living through the hell sequence.

SaltonSea123
You're absolutely right, every once in a while, you see a movie that "blows your mind". A film that sucks your eyes/heart/soul into its brilliancy. There are moments in certain movies were you just blaze with emotion (even though you're just watching a screen). such examples: Pearl Harbor: the attack scene when Cuba Gooding Jr. shoots down a Jap Zero. Stand By Me: when River Phoenix tells his story about stealing. If a movie can make me cry, this is it. Ghost: the ending is immensely powerful It's a Wonderful Life: again the ending is full of passion and emotion Mrs. Doubtfire: when the court rules against Robin Williams at the end. I know some of you will laugh when reading this post, and I feel sorry for you, because you've probably never felt strong feelings when watching a movie before. If you had, you'd know what I'm talking about. If you've always watched movies at parties with loud noises all over and interuptions, then you're missing out on some great stuff. I urge you to sit down, by yourself at night with no loud children running around or friends calling you, and watch one of these movies for the full 2 hours. Captain Keyes
Saw this movie a long time ago after it first came out on video. Because I was younger and less mature and Robin Williams did so many movies in the late 90's (most of which I hated), it didn't have too much of an impact on me. Well since i think Pearl Harbor, ghost and Missus Doubtfire sucks, but i think Stand by me and its a wonderful life are great movies; does that mean that i have 40% good taste and 60% bad taste when it comes to movies?? What I think SaltonSea is getting at: some people fail to appreciate the power in some movies. An example: Some see Denzel's Training Day or 8 Mile and think that's totally cool, then they become part of the majority and are "de-sensitized" to emotional parts in other, less popular films such as the ones salton sea mentioned. He's saying that there are dudes like yourself that fail to recognize these moments in movies, maybe salton sea and I are just too emotional, but I doubt that's the reason, I think most people don't watch Mrs. Doubtfire and other movies with "NON BIAS" minds. They've seen Training Day!!! That's a cool movie!!! It has REAL emotion man!!!! I don't perticularly like watching Mrs. Doubtfire all the time, but I do understand that the ending scene in the courtroom is quite emotional. Don't you understand that? Now, lots of kids these days will say: "I was on the edge of my seat during Training Day and that really stirred emotions in me, cuz I was sweating" ....but, how many times have you seen gang wars? Killings? prolly never. The emotions we're talking about are those from reality. ....e.g: a)losing a loved one, if you're religious, are they going to heaven? (what dreams may come) b)being an outcast, accusations of theft, the poor kid, loner (stand by me) c)war (hundreds of thousands of U.S. military personel have served in war, pearl harbor) Whatever, I don't expect most of you to understand this. Evil Gay
Uhm yeah, i know thats what he meant. What ticked me off was this sentence: I know some of you will laugh when reading this post, and I feel sorry for you, because you've probably never felt strong feelings when watching a movie before Maybe it was not his intention but it was condescending. Mainly because i did laugh when i saw Pearl Harbor on the list. No movie is going to suck my eyes/heart/soul out with CGI's. If salton feels that way thats perfectly fine. Good for him. Just dont feel sad for me, or say that i cant empathize with movies, because i dont. Same goes for ghost's badly acted corny ending. I can still get all worked up about Dead Poets Society or Midnight Cowboy for example. Whats the point in defending his opinion before anyones answered?
