Weird Problem that seems impossible to overcome

i've looked ALL over, and i cant seem to find the answer to my problem.

in the Stowaway mission, either my bike is too slow or the plane is just waaaaay too fast. but i cant even get even remotely close to the ramp (id say anwhere from 50-100 metres away)

 

i've tried everything that ive read on the other forums and walkthroughs but its impossible.

 

can somebody PLEASE help me. btw. im playing the PC version

You didn't say what platform you are playing this on (PS2, XBox, or PC), so generically speaking, you need to tap whatever control makes you stand up. This makes you lean forward and thus makes you go faster. (At least on the PC, if you don't tap, you'll stand completely up and won't go quite as fast.)

 

Edit: Oops... I guess you did say what platform you are on. Okay, just tap the 'W' key while you're accelerating. Doing this, you should have no problem catching the plane provided you dodge the barrels.

I'm sure this will be disputed by someone. I haven't performed any tests, so I won't defend that statement. All I'll say is that I seem to go much faster when I do this rather than just stand completely up. <shrug>

trust me ive tried everything including that. if i could show you a video of my monitor, you would see that my bike is going insanely fast, so fast in fact that the whole screen is just a wild blur. and yet, i still come nowhere near the ramp. ive tried dodging the barrels, ive tried going in from the side... nothing works.

I dont know if it works, but some people say, that airplane time sinchronization is buggy, so if you want to catch that airplane, you must get frame rate as high as possible. Reduce screen resolution, go to 16bit color, turn off vsync, and everything, that might reduce frame rate, and then try.

 

Let us know, if it works, cos many people have this problem

really? fram rate huh? well just to let you guys know, i played that mission with frame limiter off. and i never fail to get on the plane. why not try that?

for some reason when i was doing this, when approaching from the far right the bike seemed slower.

 

the best way i found was at the start go left untill your just a little to the right of the ramp on the plane, stay there untill you catch it then nudge left and climb aboard.

I think if you approach from the left or the right, you get caught in the air stream from the jet engines. You have to go up the centre in line with the ramp and dodge the barrels to gain enough speed to make it up the ramp.

hold w even before u can drive the bike, in the cinematic.. i had no problems, somehow my bike rode right through the barrels and nothing happened

did anyone say how they overcame their problem? or was it always overcome by tweaking the frame rate?

holy hell it worked!!!

 

i set the resolution to the bottom and turned off the frame limiter, turned off all unneccessary screen items like maps n what not, and the plane didnt even get to go 15 metres before i got onto the ramp. it didnt even get to drop the first barrells!
