SIP YEK NOD
the standard edition could be just normal packaging, the limited edition could come in the little book like the one i got. the game DVD was in the back of the little book. just a thought, i dont know if there is a normal packaging version, but it would rock if all pc games came in little hardcover books like this. rather than having a game rack, you would have a bookshelf and would look smart
GTA3Freak-2001
Nah the Normal one is the one you've shown, the Limited Editon advertised on amazon has some novelle thing with it is what I understand.

SIP YEK NOD
This News Item has been viewed 1816 times!A version of GTA: San Andreas for PC will ship with a book called 'novella'. Early reports indicate that 'novella' is a prequel of some kind. Rockstar have now confirmed that the PC version will ship with the novella worldwide and that it is a "very nice looking book". The listing of the "novella" has appeared on the websites of Gameplay, Amazon and Play.com. Check back soon for further details. Check out the dictionary definition of novella while you wait! Source the "novella" is the little book. its not a limited edtion. maybe it was origionally intended to be?

tombcatz
the regular version is a cities guide book [74 pages] that includes a large map of SAN ANDREAS [and a large poster on the other side],and the DVD disk.
Vanzant
You guys are lucky all us Xbox'ers got was the map, instructions and a silly card with "bully" on it. The map has a picture of some blonde chick with her tounge out and one time i walked up to this little old lady and asked her to help me out with directions to the "off track betting" and showing her the map. Extreme.
GodGell
i have the limited edition, too. the online shop i bought it at said it contains a 76page long handbook. it's just like the one in the picture, but if it has been in the regular version too, maybe it differs in content. i didn't even take a look into mine yet (apart from taking the dvd out of it) because i was busy playing sa, but once i've got more time i'll check it. it says "city guides: los santos - san fierro - las venturas"

I have the same book too and I don't think I have the limited edition. I don't think there is one either. Maybe they intended to make one like someone said, but didn't make it so. I have the european version of the retail-game. It says the same "city guides: los santos - san fierro - las venturas" and has some description of the three areas inside it. There are stuff like where to eat and shop in the book. I like the layout of the game's covers, more than Vice City's
phant0mhax0r
Yep the book it comes with is pretty lame, its a city guide for a made up city . Its kinda useless and unnesicary but its unsual in a nice way, it smells nice too
GodGell
I'd say you have the standard version. I have the same book too and I don't think I have the limited edition. I don't think there is one either. Maybe they intended to make one like someone said, but didn't make it so.I have the european version of the retail-game. on the package itself nothing indicates that it would be some sorta limited edition, but when i placed my order at the online shop it said limited edition, and it also said the limited edition contains the 76-page handbook. so i think this handbook is what separates limited/ordinary editions. but many people have said they can't find an "ordinary" edition of the game, only "limited edition" (the shop i bought it at only had limited edition as well), it seems it wasn't such a limited edition at all. probably we all have limited editions.. it seemed to me that this limited edition popped up about a day after release and immediately replaced ordinary copies everywhere. probably R* did a last-minute modification? if they didn't, i don't get it why did all the ordinary editions disappear. we should do a crc32 comparsion of a ordinary and limited editiion dvd. and btw, since i'm in central europe, i guess i have the european version too, but i don't think that apart from the rating anything is different. edit: sorry for spelling and grammar mistakes, i'm a little tired, been playing SA nonstop (except for taking a piss) for 29 hours and 38 minutes, without coffeine or any drugs. Dimwit
if i was to take a guess, i would say that there is no limited edition. not many games come in two versions. really, the only one i can think of is halo 2. and the prices don't match either. i paid $49.99 and every other store pretty much the same. for halo 2, i got the special limited edition and it cost $54.99 rather than $49.99 like the standard halo 2 and every other video game. so i say that the people at amazon.com and everyone else on the internet who says that, doesn't know sh*t. sorry for the language. my momma raised me to be a good Christian boy (guess she failed). GTA3Freak-2001
I'd say that this Limited Edition was a term created to try and entice more orders or something as only a few online stores had this so-called special going. So there's only one version and it comes with this hardcovered guide book, so you guys got jipped. p the book it comes with is pretty lame, its a city guide for a made up city Err that made no sense, San Andreas is a made up city. What did you expect a real city guide book? If you read it its basially the manual which explains the game. I think its great, Vice City's manual was set-out like that too so it expands on the GTA Universe similar to the websites Rockstar have made based on the ingame companies etc.
GodGell
i've paid 11999 ft. for my SA, which is 48.4266 euros, or 58.7185 yankee dollars, or 32.2267 british pounds. i've checked the online shop i ordered it at again, and surprise: http://www.576.hu/?action=preorder&melyik=162 it says GTA San Andreas (second wave) 9 999 ft. i have no idea what does "second wave" mean, but this one isn't the limited edition that i bought, and it's 2000 forints cheaper. i don't think R* would sell SA in 2 packages if they were the same. i think there's even a law or something that says you can't sell something for more money if it's the same thing. not sure though. GTA3Freak-2001
what i think is that the limited edition sa has a hard cover book and the regular edition the regular stapled fat booklet.... Well so far no one has shown any proof or even evidence of this flat stapled regular booklet so I still say there is no special edition.
Rage18
from what ive collected off of google. It seems that ALL copies being sold in the U.S is the "limited edition" if you look at the images of the boxes of the pc versions sold in the UK they are taller and say PC CD in the top left corner. salibaba
well from what I can see, people in the UK at least can get their money back because their game is not the limited edition. The sale and supply of goods act 1998 in the UK states that the goods must be as described. In this case the goods are not as described because it is not actually the limited edition because it seems that there is not difference between the normal version and the "so called" limited edition. As such you are entitled to a refund. Well thats how I read it lol
Rage18
Well on the UK sites it claims the "limited edition" comes with a novella. Thats what the book that the dvd comes in is. someones getting screwd

nlitement
Well looks like everyone has the "limited edition" even though e.g. I got it from a local store (Finland) and it wasn't mentioned to be anything "limited". Nice try Take2, now go and f*ck yourself.
MajorOutage
Maybe the Limited Edition comes in an actual box? All I got was the book (w/ map in front, disc in back) in a sleeve cover and plastic wrap.
