Taxmod
Do you think the PS3 could run GTA: SA for PC? Since you know that you could use it as a pc and are most likely able to run windows on it. I would love to run SA for pc on the PS3. I know that the cell is power pc based and might be able to run os x and then you could get the virtual pc for mac and install it on their and use sa for pc. I think you might be able to...
GTA3Freak-2001
Its got the power to but I dunno about emulating it on the PS3 which is kinda pointless given that the PS3 will play your PS2 version of GTA SA. Come to think of it no PC game has been run on any console so the probablity is low I'd imagine.

GTA3Freak-2001
Just not worth most people's time, expecially when GTA4 comes out on the PS3 SA will look less appealing I'd imagine.
Knightmare
its not impossible.. Well put. I'd imagine hardware would have to be tweaked if not changed completely, and it might freak when you try changing resolutions or something. The game is made to run with today's hardware, and although the PS3 will be more pc-like, I'm sure it could be possible, but not without a lot of tweaking. Vanzant
Umm but wouldnt that require you to install the files to the PS3? Which you dont do for console games because theyre console games. I don't know much about the PS3 *shucks*

I don't know much about the PS3 *shucks* Yes, you'd need the hard drive as stated. You can burn Xbox games to a hard drive and run it off of there much faster than the disc...so it would be possible, but would require a lot of tweaking. Basically the PS3 will have the same components as a PC, but those components will be vastly different than what a PC has. You could install it just fine I would assume, but getting a game designed for a PC to run on console hardware would be complicated I would imagine, even though the PS3 hardware could easily handle it. CoplandVictim
Grand Theft Auto 4 will be out 6 months - a year within the release of the PS3 so I'd just wait for that (assuming Rockstar will use that amazing graphics engine), but to answer your question the PS3 has well more then enough power to run GTA:SA for the PC, it's just that the format wouldn't work right and I'm sure all of the games coding is different then the PS2 version.
