Tom Joad
I wish they never added the RPG elements like muscle, stamina, sex appeal, etc...Sure, I love RPG's, (my favorite genre) but the only RPG's I want to see in GTA launch rocket propelled grenades. It's a pain in the ass having to stop every now and then to eat in SA. I wish they stuck to the pure action game formula of GTA3 and VC. I might remove you from my respect list for that comment! The only thing I miss is the Cuban prostitute from VC, Auntie Poulet and Mercedes. Edited July 20, 2005 by Tom Joad
King of Liberty City
The 'Good Citizen Bonus' was nice in VC, too. Tell me about it! When I first booted up SanAn, (I have the X-box version), after the first few missions I decided to get some hardcore cash. So naturally, when I saw a cop chasing a thug, I punched the fool, thinking I'd get a cool 50$. But to my surprise, the cop turns around and starts shooting at me! So one thing lead to another, and I capped the cop with a pistol I had found earlier. Yada yada yada, I end being busted with a 5 star wanted level. Not exactly how I intended to lose half my money. Mmm_Beefy
i'm only in San Fierro thus far in the game. i find the radio stations rather bland compared to those in GTA 3 and Vice City, i'm already tired of listening to them:( (which leads me to wish for a simple Radio Off button to bind to) i'd like to see them use different radio stations for each island or at least, a couple of the islands, like the first and last just to mix things up a bit. also HUGE Unique Jumps that where in GTA3 where removed in VC, i've found a couple similar in SA, so i hope i find more of them. weapon halo's, i pass right by weapons because i dont see the glowing halo around them like in the old games. the rpg stats.. i have mixed feelings about, i dont mind stopping and eating, i dont mind working out either. driving skills kinda stink imo. i got my cycle skills up very easily, but due to cars constantly plowing into me, my car skills are still so low i cant believe it. i've not researched this, i assume you gather skill for driving, and not hitting anything or falling off the bike for long periods of time. i can count on two hands how many times i've been thrown off my bikes.. but i lost count after 10mins of play how many times cars rammed into me, or coming over a hill i cause a major pile up lol. cars is another.. they all seem rather blah (unless theres some super cool cars in las venturas). i remember when i made it to the second island on GTA3.. and was wowed by the banshee's and other cool cars on that island. i just loved GTA3, i played VC to the point i cant even stand to look at it anymore, SA will probably be the same for me as both those. having loads of fun with it thus far, havnt even got around to stunting in it yet. cheers
evil joe
I miss: 1. Shoot someone in the leg and they hop up and down until they die. Or in the stomach and they hold their stomach. But in SA you can only shoot them in the head for them to do something else. 2. The ice cream trucks. I don't think you can still do the missions in SA. I'd like a 'Radio Off' key, too. The gameworld seems more realistic in San Andreas; more like GTA III than the cartoon world of Vice City. I guess that's why I don't miss the weapon halos you mention. I like the RPG stats a lot; even the driving stat which increases very slowly. The different fighting skills and dojos are my favorite I reckon the vehicles and boats and aircraft are excellent in SA. There's more variety and they look much better than in the previous two games. The jetpack is great fun as well! With the 'Good Citizen Bonus', I suppose you could interpret killing the drug dealers and getting a few thousand $$$ reward a "community service" Edited July 20, 2005 by maf
BHunterSEAL
What do you mean, killing drug dealers? I could use the few thousand. How do you know who is a drug dealer, where can you find them, etc.? Just in LS? Well, what I miss is the VC controls. I played that game for months, I got used to them and the "free" camera in SA (im talking about the PC version here) took about two weeks of playing to get used to. Also, I miss Ms. Cleo! Who was the voice of Auntie. And ray liotta as tommy. Well, while there are still satirical elements to San Andreas, it has become much darker and more serious. I prefer the funnier, less "gritty" world of Vice City.

I prefer the funnier, less "gritty" world of Vice City. There are two types of drug dealers, and as far as I know only in Los Santos. Both of them stand with their arms down by their side and their hands crossed in front of them. One is a black dude in dark clothes, the other a white dude in a light hoody and jeans. Each one killed bags around $2000-$3000 or slightly more. @the PC controls, I liked them better than Vice City immediately, especially the game camera view using the mouse. It's a personal preference I guess. I don't miss Tommy Vercetti, but Ray Liotta did a fine job of voicing him. CJ is just as good a character, and Young Maylay does a great job with the voice acting. San Andreas is more like the gritty world of Liberty City than Vice, and that's a good thing since it helps draw the player into the game more. Vice City was bright and colorful and very 1980s and it was an excellent game. San Andreas is just a lot better
ToyMachine
The thing that pisses me off about this game is changing the radio stations with the arrow buttons. I liked it how it was in VC more. Everything else in the game owns every other GTA game. Except for the atmosphere of the city, you just cant beat GTA3 in that aspect.

All good weapons and as good as an uzi. I'd have liked the restaurants to have see-through windows, like Vice City. And more restaurants, diners to go into - the brown ring donuts place is a missed opportunity. Ordering drinks from bars would be nice too. nlitement
They couldn't put in the real weapon names as those names are owned the the companies that make the weapons. I still find it quite ridicilous that you need to get a damn license; Hey! At least we give you some ad support! Duh But you can always write a mod which changes ballistic names into weapon names. Phosgene
Robbing stores in Vice City was a cool addition, and I was surprised R* took that feature out (I think maybe they had pressure to remove certain criminal activities; armed robberies being one). Yeah, it was a cool addition to VC, but I think it was removed (or just not added to SA) because of the reason you specified. About two years ago, my ex-GF (then a manager at a Pizza Hut nearby) was robbed at gunpoint by two kids (one 15 and the other a mentally retarded 17-yr old). The younger one thought up the idea and actually convinced the other one that "it'll be just like robbing a store in Vice City". The 17 year old stood there and pointed a gun at my GF while the 15 year old grabbed the cash. Not cool. Features like that are fine for MY game (I'm 30, perfectly sane, and not about to try anything like that), but when it comes to someone else, I just don't know (they could be a mentally retarded 17-year old who doesn't understand what robbery really is). Anyway, back on topic: I miss the pizza delivery missions...they were fun for some odd reason, even though I delivered pizza for Pizza Hut at the time. I wish they'd kept the good citizen bonus when you helped cops beat up the criminals...that was always fun for me. What I miss most about VC and GTA3 was the fact that you could run over 10 peds in a row and not even slow down. In SA, it seems like each one slows your car just a little bit. I don't like it, doesn't FEEL right to me.

Ozzy_Osbourne
I miss the spike strips. as annoying as they were to run into, at least they added realism to the actions of the police(even though they still acted retarded)
The_Cop
This may sound stupid but, I'd have liked if they hadn't changed the way the Perenail from GTA 3 looked. (its actually thinner and slightly rounded on VC and San An) In GTA 3 the Perenail was wide and boxy - which made it look more 'old school' american. I also liked how in VC when it was sunny the water 'sparkled'.

johnson.
I found GTA San Andreas to be a insult to all Grand Theft Auto's. I think Tony, from Flash FM and Flashback FM should have still had a radiostation in SA. Same with Lazlow And Same thing with Maruice Chavez. They radio stations are complet crap with out them even though Lazlow still had a small part. The health system is retarded. SA doesnt even feel like GTA anymore. They pretty well took out all the old cars. The clothing your able to ware dont even get me started that. IF you want to play a real GTA then play the old ones. Donald Rack
I miss the look of the rain, in SA it looks grainy and misty. I also miss the water and blood droplets on the camera. I miss the spike strips too.
maf
I played the older GTA games years ago when they were first on PC, and the 3D versions are better, each one better than the previous one. The rain effect looks better to me (apart from some strange lighting problems at certain times of evening). I liked the stinger strips in Vice City; it made it interesting trying to escape with four flat tires, with the cops having the same problem
WellsMcK
I miss what cops said in Helis. And Mafia Sentinials or any of them. I thought was cool to have blood on your screen when killing someone. But the Water droplets... annoying.... most of the time I drove around and all of a sudden Water out of nowhere. I made a topic on , Do you miss seeing out of windows like the building being right there instead in heaven. The Vice City Sand King was one of my favorites. The Cheat spawning the Mini Gun. And how Tommy would be able to fight 10 guys in a circle around him with no healt being gone.
NUTZ_J98
What are some things (ALL the way from the first GTA) you wish stayed in San Andreas and Vice? Mine are: -You can put the car on birds eye view, but still 3D You can also do the same for the player, both of these are from GTA3. -UZI and M60 from Vice City, I can't think of a reason they would not put them in... -REAL weapon names (Eg. NOT 9mm, but Colt .45. NOT SMG. but MP5, NOT Machine pistol, but Mac-10 etc...) A 9mm is nothing like Colt .45. They are two totally different calibers. Maybe instead of 9mm they could make it a Glock or S&W 9mm. But a .45 caliber pistol is not even measured with the same units as a 9mm. The SMG is not necessarily a MP5 because there are several SMG's that are not MP5's. This also applies to the machine pistol. A mac 10 is a type of machine pistol but not necessarily the one in the game. These things cannot be achieved because of licensing and that would just push your release dates out like Gran Turismo 4. As far as things I miss from other games. Hmmmmmm nothing except what is already listed for the most part. The overhead view was a nice touch sometimes. I dont really like the cinematic views except for some screenshots.

teh roxxors
I wish the last two games had more of the tongue-in-cheek humor of GTA III, especially in the radio commercials. The Laslo bits were classic. The new stuff isn't nearly as funny or entertaining.
