cmatex Posted June 18, 2005 Share Posted June 18, 2005 I finally got the game working after running into the data3.cab CRC error this is how I did it. I know some may not have the resources but if you do it worked like a charm for me. I used my home computer and transferred the disc data to a file on the HD then used Nero to burn to a DVD After this was completed I transferred the files to my HD and ran the install prgm. The game installed and runs off the disc perfectly. I know this seems like alot of trouble but it got to the point that it was no longer about playing the game as much as the challenge to find a way to make it work. My laptop that was having problems reading the disc is only 5 months old and has never had any problems reading DVDs so this really pissed me off. I work offshore so I really needed the entertainment. Hope this helps someone. But when I get home I am still bringing it back to EB for a new disc. imheretostay Posted June 18, 2005 Share Posted June 18, 2005 There is another way, that saves you the money for a new DVD rom. It is to use a program called IsoBuster (google it), and extract the data to your hd, then install the game from there.
