Shadowmind
It is possible that this is already told somewhere but the search mode doesn't work. With the BMX Challenge in Los Santos in i can't get the ring on top of the halfpipe the others are easy and i have more then 1 min left but can't get that one. Any tips? Early_Q2
Luck . That one really annoyed me too, but I just kept doing it and managed to make it. Fast cycle up the pipe towards it (quickly tapping W) and lean forward... gives you a better chance of making it. Good luck!
Shadowmind
been try that already but doesn't seems to work and other tips?
UuUr
Where is that BMX Challenge ? Can anyone explain it but exactly ?
_RicH_
its in glen park, LS, has 2 half pipes and theres a bmx next to one of them, get on it and away you go. that last ring is annoying, try taking it an at angle it seemed to help me.
efter0
I've seen a lot of people suggest "tapping W" to get up this half pipe. Unless you have remapped the control, tapping W will make CJ lean forward, and stop peddling. This might work once your bike tires are ABOVE the top of the pipe, but it doesn't do anything to help get UP the pipe. And another thing, has anyone found out how to "grind" on the bike (i.e pedal fast, standing up) "tapping W" doesn't help with this either, like some have suggested. The controls say shift key, but shift key does nohing while on the bike.

efter0
By default, SPACEBAR is the handbrake, and works the same with the bike, but does "tapping" your sprint key while on the BMX actually DO anything??? on my game it does NOT do anything, holding it or tapping it has absolutely NO effect whatsoever on making CJ pedal any faster. The strategy guide says that the LShift key will make CJ "grind" on the BMX (i.e. pedal standing up) just as this same key makes CJ RUN when on foot. Can ANYONE provide a screenshot of CJ pedalling while standing up on the BMX, and would this same person accurately describe what button makes him do it? And I am NOT speaking of making him LEAN forward on the bike, this has NO effect on his pedalling and in fact makes him STOP pedalling, so please, no retarded replies about "tapping W". The-Joker
For me tapping "W" makes CJ stand up and pedal faster on the bike and "W" is my (going) forward key (not leaning, moving). But you need to tap really fast to have any effect. Included 2 screens to make this pass your "retarded w reply" rule: http://upl.silentwhisper.net/uplfolders/upload4/bmx.jpg http://upl.silentwhisper.net/uplfolders/upload4/bmx.jpg As for the misson itself is pretty much luck. Took a lot of tries for me when I still needed it. It seems like going up that pipe at an angel helps when trying to get onto the platform. Ironicly I managed to do it on the first try now when I was taking the screens. Edited June 26, 2005 by The-Joker
siikei
c'mon guys, weren't you paying attention in the beginning of the game?! when you have to get away from the Ballas car with a bike it says "To pedal faster repeatedly tap UP"(or something like that ) UP is the default forward key! balatro
Hello, I don't know if you have solved the BMX challenge by now, but just in case you haven't: This mission gave me a lot of trouble too, but then I found a method that now works for me 80-90% of the time. I already had 100% cycling skill when I did this challenge, so your mileage may vary depending on your own cycling skill level. Rock the bike back and forth on the half pipe so that you can get enough speed. Then, like the others said, tap your forward movement button (whatever you've mapped it to be) rapidly to gain speed and jump up. BUT...you cannot do this going perfectly straight -- otherwise, the bike just shoots straight up into the air. What you need to do is to *turn* your wheels at the last moment. This will tilt your bike forward while airborne so that you'll land on the ledge. Practice this a bit first with another BMX bike before doing the challenge, and you should be ok. Good luck! -- Balatro
efter0
OK this is finally settled, thanks to all who participated. Look at this picture and and you'll clearly see that retardedly "tapping W" isn't the answer, UNLESS you have remapped your controls.
